That is a very complicated question because it depends on exactly what
you're asking and exactly what you're doing.
You could use other functions. You could not recalculate. You could save
values instead of using formulas.

May I suggest if you are really looking for reasonably price option service checkout Valueline's Option Survey. It is run by my good friend Lawrence D. Cavanagh at vloptions@valueline.com annual fee is $149.
This overview may be of use. http://www.valueline.com/Products/Options_Products/The_Value_Line_Options_Survey.aspx
You can download their daily spreadsheets to aid in your analysis.
Lawrence was a guest speaker at my 2008 Seminars at Sea. He does tend to get into the Greeks.

I would suspect it was a problem with Yahoo, but without specific examples it would be impossible to tell.
Are you still having problems?
I quite often have issues with Yahoo on the weekly options, since they don't update as they become available.

I have been using the smfGetYahooOptionQuote function to pull put option prices into my worksheet, but this morning, all of the stock put prices came in, but the ETF put pricing did not. Any ideas? I'm trying to pull put prices for SPY, XLE, XLK, etc. It has worked for years...is it Yahoo, or is it me?

Hi Randy--
I've been using your spreadsheet for a couple weeks. It's great. However, I opened it this morning and none of the cells populated. F9 does nothing. I've tried to download the original spreadsheet and it doesn't work either.
I thought I saw something about a limit to the number of data pieces (maybe it was 1000?), but I can't find that comment either.
Any thoughts? i greatly appreciate your help.
Chris

I just opened the template from the FILES area of the Yahoo group, and it
worked fine for me.
Hopefully, it was just a temporary Yahoo issue?
Otherwise, did you add some type of firewall that would prevent EXCEL from
being able to access the Internet? Do other functions work? What do you get
with:
=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
=RCHGetElementNumber("MMM",943)
=RCHGetElementNumber("MMM",33)
=RCHGetYahooQuotes("MMM","d1")

Thanks for your quick reply. When I opened this time everything seemed to be working fine. Must have been a yahoo issue -- i'll give it a little more time next time it happens. Tx. Chris

I uploaded an excel file in the "upload by member" folder under the files link called Running total calculation.xlsx.
My question is this. I created a pivot table and the "value" column of the pivot table was set to sum as "running total in" under the pivot table tools/show values as/running total in. This basically creates a running total.
I then went to the pivot table tools/field items and sets/calcualted field. In the calculated field I created a custome calculation in the pivot table which is the % column which takes the price column and divides it by the values column to get a percentage.
You can notice that the percentages calculated are not correct based on using the running total numbers in the values column, but rather the percentage calculated uses the base numbers from the values column....NOT the running total numbers.
Is there any way to correct this outside of making a column outside of the pivot table to calculate it and/or doing the running total as the source data for the pivot table? I would really prefer to add a custom calculated field in the pivot table.
Also it seems if you filter data in the pivot table the "values" column blows up and does not show the correct "running total" value. Any fixt to this as well?
Thanks guys.

Since in has nothing to do with the add-in, that would be a better question
for an EXCEL support group, such as:
