Hi Randy, I changed the location of the addin to what you specified. I downloaded a fresh copy of smfGetPortfolioView-Example template. This appears to have made no difference. I open the spreadsheet and it does not update. I run the smfFixLinks macro and it updates. I save and close the spreadsheet. When I reopen it, it does NOT update.
The version text is the same after I run the FixLinks and when I save/reopen the spreadsheet.
Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2018.01.24 (C:\SMF Add-in; Windows (64-bit) NT :.00; 15.0; ; ; 1)
I am still stumped.
Thanks, TN

I am having the same problem as another SMF user had recently. On a Win10Pro/Excel2013 box, I am having to deselect/reselect. the addin every time I open the worksheet. Again, that behavior makes no sense to me.
The fact you can run the smfFixLinks macro means the add-in is active.
However, the ONLY thing that macro does is a "Change All" to remove the
unresolved links for invalid locations on add-in functions. The only cells
that should recalculate are those that are affected by that "Change All"
command.
When you open that template, do you have a path shown in front of the
smfGetYahooPortfolioView() function?
When you open that template, does smfForceRecalculation force an update.
BTW, note that saving and opening the workbook would NOT cause an update
unless you closed EXCEL or ran the smfForceRecalculation macro in between.
That's because the add-in retrieves a web page, saves the web page
internally, and then extracts the data from that saved web page. Doing any
kind of EXCEL recalculation would just simply repeat that last step -- the
process of extracting the data from the SAVED copy of the web page. Since
the saved copy of the web page hasn't changed, there would be no update of
data from the Internet. In order to force the add-in to retrieve a NEW copy
of the web page, you either need to run the smfForceRecalculation macro
(which deletes all saved copies of web pages, forcing new ones to be
retrieved) or exit EXCEL (which resets the VBA environment, meaning no web
pages have yet been saved).

Path when template is opened:
='C:\SMF Add-in\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
FixLinks clears the path
=RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
Save file, close Excel, path when template is re-opened is the same as the original:
='C:\SMF Add-in\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)

That's not a cleared path, and should not be possible.
After running smfFixLinks, this should be what is left:

Hi Randy, right after I hit the ForceRecalc button before I click on anything else in the sheet, the address bar shows:
=RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
When I click on a different cell in the array, it shows:
=smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)

I'm stumped.
One last thought -- you don't have your options set to manual calculation,
right? And EXCEL isn't giving you any kind of warning or error messages as
you're opening things?
You saw a different formula when you clicked on a different cell? What's in
a cell when you click on another cell BEFORE running smfFixLinks or
smfForceRecalculation?
Something fundamental is at issue here. Maybe even just in the
communications between you and I.

One last thought -- you don't have your options set to manual calculation,
right? And EXCEL isn't giving you any kind of warning or error messages as
you're opening things?
You saw a different formula when you clicked on a different cell? What's in
a cell when you click on another cell BEFORE running smfFixLinks or
smfForceRecalculati
Something fundamental is at issue here. Maybe even just in the
communications between you and I.

Calculation is set to automatic
I am going to select Cell D5 the smfGetYahooPortfolioViewView-Example,this is the Last Price of SPY. When Excel opens, it will be pointing to thatcell..
Content of D5 when the sheet is first opened:
='C:\SMFAdd-in\RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla'!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
Content of D5 afterForceRecalc is clicked:
=RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla!smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
Content after I move from D5 to D6 back to D5:
=smfGetYahooPortfolioView($B$4:$B$411,$C$2:$AJ$2,,1)
There are no warning message when the sheet is first opened. There used to be one, but it was fixed by deselecting the: "Ask to update automaticlinks" in the General section
My apologies for being a difficult case. I tried a gazillionthings before I started this thread, all to no avail.

My option is selected.
I think the reason you're getting the contents of the cell that I said
should be impossible is that you've told EXCEL to update automatic links as
it sees fit, and it's not doing them properly.
That "warning message" you used to get was basically telling you that you
needed to fix something -- unresolved links for add-in references. That's
why I wrote the smfFixLinks macro -- because the typical EXCEL process of
fixing unresolved links was unreliable when those links were for the
add-in. And it appears having EXCEL do it automatically is just as screwy.
When the warning message comes up, I tell EXCEL to leave the unresolved
links as they are and run the smfFixLinks macro.

Hi Randy
Since the earning calendar from tmxmoney is no longer available by Table, I
search for another source. I found investing.com. Is there a way by
RCHGetHTMLTable("") to get the earning calendar ? Thanks in advance.
