I removed their posting privileges. 

Unfortunately, with the Yahoo group changes, the group is now considered public and anyone can join and post. I no longer have the ability to moderate messages before they get posted.

That may be why this group gets deleted. Once spammers figure out messages can no longer be moderated, there's nothing to stop them...
