Thanks for the response. But I don't use DCF I was just testing to see what was in it.

Can't waste any more time on it. I find it odd the submitter has yet to response to my posting. Another reason to move on.

Kermit -

You might try downloading again. Bruce has a revised version, and is working on a newer version. It should be out in a couple of days.

Maybe Randy can give some pointers.

I have the latest SMF Addin 7-12-12 version. I'm am on excel 2007. And all links are fine I created a tag to correct the links on each spreadsheet I download. All others work just fine. On the DCF spreadsheet Nothing happens even when I force a recalculation.

I didn't have any problem with it - other than I know very little about DCF.

Did you update the links? Are you running Excel 2007 or 2010?

I downloaded your file and it does not work. The .XLSM implies there should be a macro but none is present.

I have my Excel trust settings to allow all macros.

When I change a symbol in column A nothing happens. Am I suppose to do something?

Columns A thru G contains the values below. What are the values in row 2?

Ticker
Price
DCF EPS

d1t1
l1

When I create a spreadsheet I always make a worksheet name "Instructions" where I explain what the spreadsheet does and how one should use it. The reason I do this isn't so much to provide others the instructions but for me when I visit it months later.

I'd love to see folks posting their work do the same. It should save lots of question and you may find it useful when you revisit your work.

Of course, not everyone has my bad memory.

Thanks for contributing your work. We do appreciate it.

Thank you for the reply!

I this these two formulas return option quotes of stocks. ES is "Energy Solution", and NQ is "NQ Mobile Inc."

but in emini futures quoting, ES is emini S&P, and NQ is emini Nasdaq 100.

I tried symbols like ESU2 for ES sep '12 futures, and so on, but all got errors.

My question is really that if there is a documentation that how optionxXpress's URL link is compiled? I think the quote is available, just that we need to put in correct parameters.

Yes. It looks like you'll need to write your own formulas to get to the
data.

For ESU12, the URL could be:

https://www.optionsxpress.com/OXNetTools/Chains/index.aspx?Symbol=ESU12

Thank you!

Further talking with OX, it turns out they only offer futures options quotes for clients who sign additional papers. So OX is not a good source for futures options...

Hi Randy,

First of let me thank you for this wonderful add in. This is great work!

Can you please clarify this

I understand that Rchgettablecell("xxx",1,"AA") will fetch the data in one cell right to "AA" label

is it possible to fetch data that is one cell below the label "AA"?

if example i am trying to fetch the Last Price from "http://www.indiainfoline.com/Markets/Derivatives/OPTSTK/SUNPHARMA/30-Aug-2012/PE/620"

You need to use the pRows parameter to skip rows. For example:

=RCHGetTableCell("
http://www.indiainfoline.com/Markets/Derivatives/OPTSTK/SUNPHARMA/30-Aug-2012/PE/620",1,"Last
Price",,,,1)

Since I installed the latest beta version of 2012-07-12 none of the MSN
spreadsheets work . There were working before the install. I have tested
several other spreadsheets some with MSN formulas and some non-MSN formulas.
The non-MSN formulas work. The MSN formulas all fail.

All MSN spreadsheet fail, include one I downloaded August 2011 -
SMF-Template-MSN-10-Year-Summaries.xls

I follow the exact procedure I use each time I make as version change, I
create a folder and move the previous version into it, then I copy the new
version into the SMF Add-in folder in the program files folder.

Each time I download a new spreadsheet I run the smffixlinks macro.

I searched messages in the yahoo group but did not see any problem with the
new version. So I suspect I may be doing something wrong.

I am open to any suggestions anyone might have to resolve the problem.

Kermit

__________________________________________________________
________
Below is examples from one of the MSN spreadsheets:

For example: RCHGetHTMLTable-Template-MSN-Annual-Financials.xls every cell
contains blanks. I have the latest spreadsheet from the yahoo group.

For example: Cell B6 has this formula content"

=IF(Ticker="None","
",RCHGetHTMLTable("http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-income-s
tatement/?symbol="&Ticker,"Stmt Source",-1,"",1))

It results in blanks in the cell as does every formula.

When I add =RCHGetElementNumber("Version") to cell E2 I get:
Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2012.07.12 (C:\Program Files\SMF
Add-in; 1)

So I have the latest version install.

What happens if you use this URL in EXCEL's Web Query dialog:

All of the workbooks you mention are working fine for me, and the
2012-07-12 release should be an exact copy of what I'm running.

So I decided that I would reboot my VISTA 64 machine since it had been 12 days. .

When I tried both spreadsheets after the reboot they both worked great.

I then re-downloaded the DCF template spreadsheet and tried it. It also worked just fine.

Sorry, to be a pain. Guess I'll make it a habit to reboot my machines at least once a week.

Thanks

Okay thanks Randy that is very helpful. Looks like Teddi uses various settings, depending on the time frame. I am going to try using some of the indicators on Barcharts for now as a starting point and see how that goes, maybe it is a better option, before moving on to the other indicators. Most of the indicators that she uses are there.

I started just with getting Support, Price, Pivot Point, and Resistance, so here are my formulas. This is the first time I have pulled data directly from a web page into your add-on, so has been a good learning experience.

I had used different reference points to get it to locate, through trial and error to get the data (in case anyone wonders why all the Find strings and Row and Cell #'s are inconsistent with each other):

SUPPORT
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/opinions/stocks/LLY",1,"Composite Indicators","Support",1)

PRICE
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/opinions/stocks/LLY",-4,"Composite Indicators","Overall Average",3)

PIVOT POINT
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/opinions/stocks/LLY",-2,"Composite Indicators","Overall Average",3)

RESISTANCE
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/opinions/stocks/LLY",1,"Composite Indicators","Resistance",0)

A few more.

Any feedback/criticism on a more consistent way for me to map these, let me know, I'm just sort of winging it until I get the right combination that matches the data on the webpage:

PercentR(20-day)

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/technicals/stocks/LLY",0,"Percent R","20-Day",1)

Stochastic %D (20-day)

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/technicals/stocks/LLY",0,"Stochastic %D","20-Day",6)

Relative Strength (20-day)

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/technicals/stocks/LLY",1,"Relative Strength","20-Day")

MACD Oscillator (20-day)

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.barchart.com/technicals/stocks/LLY",1,"MACD Oscillator","20-Day",4)

You may want to look at these two templates in the files area:

SMF-Template-Barchart-Technical-Indicators.xls
RCHGetTableCell-Template-BarChart-Technical-Signals.xls

I think they contain everything from the two pages you're looking at, plus
another.

And there was just a recent thread on getting the data from the "Cheat
Sheet" page:

http://www.barchart.com/cheatsheet.php?sym=MMM
