I stumble across the Morningstar education today and thought others might find it useful.
The link below is to the Star Rating. It helped me better understand how they determine the values.
Or use the information to develop your own Star rating system. I'm sure they do not devolve all of the rating system
http://ibd.morningstar.com/classroom/client/ETR102.html?docId=144047 http://ibd.morningstar.com/classroom/client/ETR102.html?docId=144047&page=3&CN=ETR102&view=course&courseLevel=500¤tLevel=400 > &page=3&CN=ETR102&view=course&courseLevel=500¤tLevel=400
these aren't in depth articles but they will give you an idea of how Morningstar uses the information

They're no longer using an image on the web page for the star rating. Instead, try:
=0+smfStrExtr(RCHGetWebData("http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/s?t= "&C5,"r_star"),"r_star","39;")

Actually, about as easy as it gets. For example, to get the current P/E
Ratio:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/PETR4:BZ ",1,">Current P/E
Ratio")

Hi Everyone:
I am trying to figure out if anyone has ever been able to find analyst consensus estimates with the add-in? Specifically, I look at REITs which analyst estimate Funds From Operations ("FFO") not EPS.
Thoughts?

If this page provides info that is useful to you, it can be retrieved by the smf add-in using the get tables or get table cell functions I think.

Hi Randy, each of your revisions to my formulas are of course working very well. Many thanks!

Hi Randy,
The formula at the bottom is getting prices although I don`t understand how it works.
Is it possible to adapt the formula to get other data on this page.
Fund Type: Global Equity
52 Week High: 16.05
52 Week Low: 14.34
YTD Return (as of December 31, 2012): 11.69%
Load Type: Choice of Front or Back
MER: 2.94%
Eligiblity: RRSP
Who Should Invest
Consider this Fund if: the tax consequences of a mutual fund corporation are more suitable to your investment program or that of your registered plan; you want the growth potential of equity securities of foreign companies; you're investing for the longer term; you tolerate medium risk; with respect to Series T and Series V securities, you prefer monthly distribution of capital.(This is a box varies in length)
