Sure. The formula to get the cID
is:

=smfStrExtr(RCHGetWebData("http://quicktake.morningstar.com/StockNet/bonds.aspx?Symbol=MCD","?cID="),"?cID=","&")

If that's in cell D3, the rest
of the formula:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://bond.morningstar.com/internal/company.aspx?cID="&D3,1,"Cashflow&quot;)

that sometimes requires you to visit the website BEFORE
using SMF extractions, because they sometimes have a
redirection to an advertisement on your first visit of the
day. By visiting the site (with the EXCEL Web Query or IE),
it clears that first redirection by creating a cookie that
says the redirection no longer needs to be done.​

Not sure what to tell you then. I did get a blank value returned the other
day, but I just hit alt+d+d+w to visit the Morningstar website and verify
the "Hello, Randy" was at the top of the page. Canceled out of the EXCEL
Web Query dialog and hit my button to run the smfForceRecalculation macro,
and the blank return changed to the cID.

I logged-on to Morningstar, hit alt+d+d+w to visit the Morningstar website and verified the
"Hello, Jose" was at the top of the page, canceled out of the EXCEL Web Query dialog, got out of EXCEL and tried the formula again.

Is it still possible to decompose the formula in 2 parts? Just to see which one is failing, smfStrExtr or RCHGetWebData. Maybe it is my SMF version.

Other data sources would require a different extraction process, but would
probably use RCHGetTableCell() or smfGetTagContent().

I can't seem to get the Bar Chart template to work. When I enter a ticker, I get Errors across the board.


I tried various workarounds. Could the URL be incorrect? I notice that the correct URL is: www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/ http://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/ticker/technical-analysis. I tried inspecting the html of the page but I am not successful in getting the tables for the various data points.
