I am also having this problem, but only under Windows 10. The same Excel workbook in Windows 7 works fine. It is only the history from Yahoo that is not working.

Hi Randy
Can you remind me where I find the smfFixLinks macro? I am having this problem as well and it is a touch annoying.... thanks Microsoft.

It's in the add-in. You can bring up the macro dialog with alt+F8, then
type it in, and the buttons should go from grayed out to active. I have it
attached to a button on my toolbar so it's easily available. It should also
be on your context menu -- right mouse click, then click "SMF", then click
"Fix Links".

I don't know if this would help. From FAQ and Tips
16642Re: Excel 2010
Thought I would add my two cents, in regards to compatibility.
After upgrading to Win7 and Excel 2010, I discoverd that all the functions worked (i.e. RCHGetElementNumber).
However, none of the macros would work (i.e SMFForceRecalcution). Yet all my macros from Personal.xls did work. To resolve this I had to click the checkbox "Trust access to VBA project model" under the Trust Center...Macro settings.

Hi Philip, If you're having same problem like me,
you could try what I did to resolve the issue:
Just like Randy suggested, I've added the folder where I extracted my SMF addin files (namely C:\SMF Add-in) to the trusted locations under Trust Center Settings
after that everything worked, I didn't even used the smfFixLink macro at all
hope this helped :)

I have Windows 8.1 and Excel 2013.
I added my c:\SMF Add-In\ folder to the trusted locations under Trust Center Settings. And I un-checked/checked the SMF Add In with no luck.
What I noticed is that when I open a spreadsheet, I am not seeing a flashing message that the Add-in is loading. Before I used to see the message when opening a spreadsheet.
It seems that the add in is not loading.

Jose L. Jacob

I have the same problem. Last week I switched everything from C:\Program Files\SMF Add-In\ to C:\SMF Add-in and everything works. Today, I open up my worksheet and everything just went back to ?NAME again in the cells. I've added C:\SMF Add-In to the Trusted Locations, but nothing works. Switching On/Off the Addin didn't do anything either.
However, if I switch it back to C:\Program Files\SMF Add-In.... everything works again.
This issue occurred after I updated MS OFfice last nite to the latest version. Man, I just hate this! I would hate to see this happen with each MS Office update, it's so annoying and time consuming for me as my worksheet is so big.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, since it's not happening here, I can't really do anything to
check things out. It's nearly impossible to work off of what people tell
me, because I'm not sure of all the steps they are doing. And different
people are telling me different things about the same suggestions.
For example, did you exit EXCEL after changing the Trust settings? So that
they would be in place when you try to open a worksheet? Did you then save
a workbook using that location, then exit EXCEL and reopen the workbook to
check for the problem?
If you change the location of the add-in, you WILL get unresolved links
with any workbook opened that was saved when the add-in was in a different
location. BECAUSE EXCEL hard-codes the location of the add-in whenever it
saves a workbook.

check things out.

There is some useful info on the link. Particularly, #1 under "Issues Affecting Excel Features and add-ins". Unblocking the XLA file worked for me.

Thanks so much. That certainly sounds like the problem. I've been searching
for something like that since this happened. I just recently suggested
adding the folder to the list of trusted locations, but someone said that
didn't work.
As a "workaround" until they fix the problem, unblocking sound easier and
less risky. But I think it will need to be done every time a new XLA is
loaded. Until they fix the problem themselves.
The details for those of you that are interested:
------------------------------
We have a few options for workarounds. These are in order from safest to
riskiest.
The best option is to move away from using HTML wrapped as .XLS. If you use
native formats (e.g. XLS, XLSX, XLSB) which will open in protected view
when untrusted, this will provide some level of protection from the
documents being opened.
1.
You can unblock access for individual files you know are safe. To do
this:
1.
Right-click the file, and choose *Properties*.
2.
On the General tab, click *Unblock*.
3.
Click *OK*.
2.
You can make use of existing Trusted Locations capabilities in Excel
2010, 2013, and 2016 via *File* > *Options* > *Trust Center* > *Trust
Center Settings* > *Trusted Locations*.
1.
You can save the web html file to a trusted location on the local
machine (Excel comes with a set of default trust locations). If
you do not
see the local folder location you trust for these files, then press "Add
new location…" button and add it in the Trusted Location dialog. If the
HTML document is in a trusted location the KB fix is not applied
(e.g. the
unsafe HTML file is not blocked). .
2.
This approach may unblock you, but it carries some risk as files of
any file type in Trusted Locations are fully trusted. If an attacker can
drop files into the trusted location they can easily exploit
users who open
such documents. Be especially cautious when specifying a custom
folder as a
trusted location.

Hi Randy, I've just noticed one problem for RCHgetyahoohistory, as the values I get for DHLCV using the rch function is different from what I see by visiting the actual site.
Formula I've used:
=RCHGetYahooHistory(""&'@Input'!$E$2&".KL",'@Input'!$E$81,MONTH('@Input'!$E$7)-5,DAY(1),YEAR(NOW()),MONTH(NOW()),DAY(NOW()),"d","DHLCV",,,1)
Actual yahoohistory link: http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/6939.KL/history?ltr=1 http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/6939.KL/history?ltr=1
And values I get, attached in photos below
Note:
For the closing prices->
around 5 to 6 April 2016 the values I get from Rch function is $1.09 and $0.55 respectively
while looking at the website, the values are $0.70 and and $0.72 respectively
the same is true for high and low price of the day, also different from the values we see from the actual yahoo website..
Second doubt is that:
the chart from another website looks like this (i3 website photo), which I feel is the way the chart should look like, as there is a corporate action EX date on 14th April 2016, which means prices should adjust on that day itself, while the values on yahoohistory doesn't adjust on 14th April.. does this means that the yahoohistory data is wrongly adjusted by their webmasters?
(attached a photo from i3 website for the chart)
link as follows: http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/chart/6939.jsp http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/chart/6939.jsp
What causes this data discrepancy and how to fix this? Been thinking and finding solutions online but can't seem to identify the cause..
Thanks!

The RCHGetYahooHistory function is just showing the data Yahoo is giving
it. Click on the "Download Data" button on their historical quotes page and
you'll see what the CSV file contains. That CSV file is what the function
uses.
You should let Yahoo know that the data they're displaying and the data
they deliver with the "Download Data" link don't match. Don't mention the
add-in as that would just confuse the situation.
