Looks easy enough. Use conditional formatting, select col B select Conditional formatting, select "use a formula" put in the formula =B1="JO" and set the format to red, then add another condition for =B1="KB" and set the format to Purple etc…

Subject: [ExcelVBA] Colored Cells on the fly
I have a spreadsheet with three columns: Date, Initials and Amount
There are 5 sales person's initials: JO, KB, LC, KG and Hse.
I would like for the cells with the initials in it to change to their respective cell colors when a sale is made and the initials are typed in a cell.
JO=Red
KB=Purple
LC=Green
KG=Aqua
Hse=Orange
I need them to change on the fly if possible. I didn't see that conditional formatting could do what I needed.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
S. Puryear
