Hi Randy,
I was wondering if you can clarify something regarding the methods used in the add-in.
I understand that some functions can use different methods to pull the data. There's the 3 basic methods:
1) IE Object
2) HTMLDocument
3) XMLHTTP Get (default)
I've experimented with these and I know you don't really like to use (or support) the IE method because how it can change from version to version.
What I've noticed is that 1 and 3 seem to render the most data, however HTMLDocument doesn't seem to render all the data. Some stuff doesn't get pulled down.
Just wondering that's always the case with method 2 or am I missing something?
Thanks

I really don't have enough experience with the other two methods, since the
few times I tried them I got inconsistent results. And I had an application
in EXCEL 2003 that stopped working when I got a new machine and EXCEL 2007
and the new version of IE went to multiple tabs. It seemed like the IE
object had fundamentally changed.
So I really haven't visited them much in over a decade.
Since they take longer anyway, because they have to render the page, I
never had much interest in them.

Something like this works for me:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-shortInterest?t=ibm",1,">Shares
Short")
Sometimes you need to visit the Morningstar web site before accessing data,
because they may be doing a one-time redirection on your first visit to the
web site for that day. The add-in can't clear that because it doesn't
process cookies. You would need to visit the web site with the Web Query
dialog (alt+d+d+w) so that a cookie can be created to indicate you have
already visited the web site. Then cancel out of the dialog and run the
smfForceRecalculation macro to get a new copy of the web page.
