Paul, glad to hear that you take care of the list. And it looks that Your VBA knowledge is more than sufficient.
I've got good advices from you and others on the list several times.
Thanks
Torstein

Glad to hear it, Paul! You were one of the people I was thinking of when I wrote, "There are any number of regular contributors who would make excellent new administrators."
So, thanks for volunteering!
btw, I enjoyed reading your brief bio and Alejandro's, too. Maybe there should be a bio thread where members could introduce themselves. (Or, maybe I shouldn't suggest anything that would make more work for our new administrator!)

My name is Paul Schreiner
I had several e-conversations with Dian Champman in the past weeks.
Like you and others, I didn't want this group to fade away, so I've agreed to take "ownership" of the group.
A little about myself:
I live just West of Indianapolis, Indiana (USA)
I've been a Mechanical Engineer for 34 years and have worked primarily in the Manufacturing Document Management field for the past 30 years! (wow, it sounds so LONG when I say it like that!)
In my early career I designed tools, gages and fixtures for manufacturing operations.
In 1992, computers were just beginning to be in use in the company I worked for and I submitted a proposal to develop applications to collect the data from these Manufacturing documents for reporting and tracking purposes.
Management agreed and it evolved into a full-time job that I enjoy immensely!
Currently, I have over 50 Excel/VBA applications in use with over 300,000 lines of VBA code.
Most Applications are used to create/maintain over 1.4 million manufacturing documents.
The early versions stored their data in an Ingres database.
Currently I use Oracle, but have begun developing applications using SQL Server.
In addition, I've helped users worldwide to develop their own applications, and I keep in touch with several.
With the TREMENDOUS help of some GREAT Moderators and the contributions of group members, I'm confident that this group will continue to remain strong!
Thanks to you all!
Paul

I just want to say that I hope this Group is handed off to someone before Dian turns off the lights. Even though I've seldom posted a question, just knowing this group was here has helped me immensely. Knowing that if I couldn't figure something out myself I'd be able to get an answer from some real experts kept me from panicking when I ran into something that for the moment seemed incomprehensible or undoable.
There are any number of regular contributors who would make excellent new administrators. I also liked Alejandro's letter of introduction and willingness to take over the administration.
Dian, thanks for running the show for so long. Please do pass it on to someone else before you leave.
