Randy, I have no doubt that all my woes are at the Morning Star WEB site end. I have finally managed to get the functions to provide 10 years data!


Using the Excel WEB query dialog, I access the MS site using www.morningstar.com http://www.morningstar.com This brings me to the old version (not beta). This screen has NO Welcome message at the top of screen.


I select Login and follow prompts. This results in a screen that includes an option to Logout (changed from Login) to in theory I am logged in. Also displayed is the "Welcome" message at the top of screen, however, without the "david" as it used to some months ago. If I exit the dialog at this stage, and after a forcerecalculation I still only get 5 years data.


If, however, I now enter a ticker in the quote field, THEN select Financials, I now get the "Hello david" message the top of the screen. Now, the smfForcereCalculation function produces 10 years data!


Thanks for your assistance and your insights into the problem have lead me to find a workaround. I hope that the 2 days of dialog between us may assist someone else, but I have no doubt we will continue to have login issues with MS until they or ??? get things sorted.

Is there a prefix for TSX stocks (Canada) for using the morningstar template ? I try (example) DOL.to or DOL:TSE and it does not working.
