Hi Randy,
About the new update, I keep having error saying " Office has detected a problem with this file. To help protect your computer this file cannot be opened."
when pressing the help button, it shows "The Office File Validation feature has blocked this file from opening as it may contain harmful content."
Any suggestion/advice on what to do?
Thanks,

This may be the issue that started in July of last year because MicroSoft
issued some security updates. For a workaround suggested by Microsoft,
until they fix the issue, see:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/30568
When I search Google on your message, I found a similar work-around:

Hello Randy,
I "unblocked" the ".XLA" file, and the =RCHGetElementNumber("Version") formula now returns the correct answer, so the add-in is now active. However, my spreadsheet makes use of elements that apparently need to be updated, elements 554 to 600, which are on the YahooAE page. The cells that contain the =RCHGetElementNumber formula referencing those element numbers return the dreaded "error." So sorry to be the bearer of ill-tidings, but it may be necessary to update the Elements yet again to fix this.
Warm regards,
Tom

Randy,
I'm seeing the same message #NAME? No issues with Excel blocking the file. Just the new add-in version isn't working.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Mark

The SMF-Template-Yahoo-Analyst-Estimates.xls appears to be working fine for
me. I tried several different tickers, including MMM, IBM, and INTC.
What do you get with:
=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
=RCHGetElementNumber("MMM",554)
=RCHGetElementNumber("Definition",554)
=RCHGetTableCell("https://finance.yahoo.com/q/ae?s=MMM",2,">EPS Trend",">")

me. I tried several different tickers, including MMM, IBM, and INTC.
What do you get with:
=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
=RCHGetElementNumber("MMM",554)
=RCHGetElementNumber("Definition",554)
=RCHGetTableCell("https://finance.yahoo.com/q/ae?s=MMM",2,"

You're getting #NAME? on this?
=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
That invocation doesn't even access the Internet, so I would think it has
to mean the add-in isn't active. Close EXCEL, restart it, and try again. If
you get the same error, then be sure to check the add-in manager and make
sure the SMF add-in is there and is checked.

You're using the 2017-04-26 version of the add-in. You need the most recent
release, 2017-05-01, which fixed another issue that popped up with Yahoo.

Randy. Just a short note to say "Thanks" for all the help and the tireless commitment you are giving us users of the SMF Add In. I've been using the 2014 version up to this point with good results until the recent Yahoo changes finally found me. Yep, I've been lucky to make it this far without upgrading which has been a big fear for me due to my lack of expertise in this area and fear of screwing up a good thing. After a few hours of trying to upgrade last night I finally got things working again with my Win 10 and 2013 Excel system and couldn't be happier. I'm a daily user who manages several portfolios so this is a big deal for me.
Sorry to ramble on, the whole point of writing this was to say Thank You and to let you know how much I, and I'm sure many other users, appreciate what you do for us. Best regards. Jim

Thanks. Don't know why but http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/ http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/ had the 4-26 version, but it has now updated with the 5-1-17 version.
The 5-1-17 version seems to be working fine. Thank you very much.
I echo what so many others have said, that you provide an invaluable service to us all, to which I am deeply grateful.

Randy,
I've updated with the new file, but my smfGetYahooPortfolioView is still not working. I don't get an error message, just no information. Don't tell me they put that in a JSON file too! And many thanks for all your support. I don't know how you find time to do it, but it is greatly appreciated.

You got it. Moved to a JSON file. I will be obsoleting the function. The
nature of the JSON file makes it difficult to automate as a similar
function.

smfGetYahooPortfolioView() is NOT working for me also. In addition, if I
use view "v2" instead of "v1", I got "Invalid view parameter:v2"
<Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2017.05.01 (C:\SMF Add-In;
Windows (64-bit) NT :.00; 16.0; ; Local; 1)>
Randy,
The recent changes in Yahoo must have caused you a lot of issues. Just want
to say a big "THANK YOU" for all your tireless and timely effort. I really
appreciate your effort.
Thanks

Hi, I've been using SMF for years now and just yesterday the "RCHGetYahooHistory" function stopped working.
Every cell in the array is blank.
All other functions are working OK.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks
