Clearly YahooKS (finance) did something post April 30, 2017, what, I do not know.
On April 30, 2017 I d/l lots of YahooKS data, no problem. As of yesterday all YahooKS data is coming back "error". So I d/l and install the new smf_addin files. I pasted in the=RCHGetElementNumber("Version") and it works, but then Control-Shift-J doesn't execute the d/l. Nothing happens when I C-S-J.
My version of Excel seems to work only with an older version SMF-addin .xla file so I tried using the new YahooKS elements file which I believe is smf-elements-2.txt in the folder with the .xla version that works and that just hung the d/l up indefinitely. Perhaps I am using the wrong elements .txt file for the YahooKS data?
At the same time the old reliable external data import function in Excel using http://finance.yahoo.com/quotes/ just stopped working as well. Error comes back as 'no data'. Is there a new URL for importing quotes from Yahoo as external data imports (using Excel's data importing)?
Is anyone encountering these types of issues and/or solved them?
Thanks for the input

I had to make changes to the add-in on May 1st because of Yahoo problems.
Are you using that version? You didn't say what "Version" the function
returned...
What is Ctrl+Shiftt+J supposed to be doing? If smfUpdateDownloadTable, you
can now access that with the context menu (right mouse click).

Hey Randy,
As you may have noticed I've been gerryrigging kind of haphazardly for a while, using apparerntly outdated commands. Your note is the first time I became aware of the right click context menu. Using that, things are working again with the newest set of files (Version 2.1.2017.05.03). Ctrl+Shift+J used to do the same thing as 'Update Download Table' from the context menu. Sorry to bother you and thanks again for your efforts on behalf of truly free market (versus the info-monopolies rearing their snarly heads).

Both the add-in and that element definition have been updated.
