Because of the way the add-in extracts data from web pages, you get that
whenever you have tried to pull data from more than 1000 web pages in a
single session. The add-in is meant for ad hoc data retrieval, not for
wholesale exploitation of the free data sources.

For more info, read up on the smfForceRecalculation macro from the "Links"
area of the group. It can reset you back to zero web page retrievals.
However, it won't help if you have over 1000 web page retrievals in a single
workbook. I usually run the macro between closing one workbook and opening
another.

But I would not consider 1000 web pages to be "not used this much" -- that's
a LOT of data to be retrieved.

I mean there are 2810 definitions in AdvFn.
This gives all financials data required for stock analysis, I am using RCHgetElementNumber() to retrieve the data from the webpage.
Is it possible that I am hitting 1000 mark everytime when I enter a ticker and try to update the data.
Am I doing something wrong?

thanks for your help

There are 2810 ANNUAL data elements for AdvFN. That's 2 web pages per ticker
symbol.

How to find the exchange

Hi,
I can get the exchange information like this RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker,3). This works great in excel and pulls the relevant exchange information.

What I would need help with is, if I can use this function in VB to assign the value of exchange to a variable.

I am very new to VB, sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question
