All the definitions are in smf-elements-8.txt. Looks like you could just do
a "find and replace all" on the domain.

Is it checked when you
go to the list of add-ins in the add-in manager?
Yes
I have the latest
official version installed in the correct directory, but somehow the function seems
not to be installed properly.
Does the add-in work
in excel 2010? Are there problems with OS 8?
Any ideas on what I can try next?
