I will take these sites to my IT person, see what they think.
In the meantime, I looked at the registry again and finally found the desired settings. I now have a script that merges the settings into the user's registry settings:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Options]
"OPEN"="\"J:\\Chemistry\\RO\\BrewUtilities.xla\""
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Security\Trusted Locations\Location6]
"Path"="\\\\kyle\\public\\Chemistry\\RO\\"
"AllowSubfolders"=dword:00000001
"Description"="For BrewUtilities.xla"
"Date"="9/24/2011 1:09 PM"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Security]
"VBAWarnings"=dword:00000001
"AccessVBOM"=dword:00000001
This seems to work well. I am not excited about modifying registry entries, but at least now my students can get to work:)
Thanks,
Robert Brewington
