Randy, can you expand on this a little more. All I get when I put this in a cell is <http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mmm/dividend-history> Ex/Eff Date

Clicking on it takes me to the webpage. However, I would like to load it into the excel spreadsheet.

Thanks,

Kermit

Payment date is irrelevant in terms of when to adjust the historical stock price. But it is important when constructing a cash flow scenario.

In any case, how about from the NASDAQ web site:

=RCHGetHTMLTable("http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mmm/dividend-history","Ex/Ef",-1,"",1)

Sorry, I assumed that the date would be the PAY DATE. Seems like it would be usefult to get both of these dates, as it would make the simulation more realistic. If I could only have one, of course, it would be the Ex-Div date, as at least I would then know that a holding has rights to the dividend, but then I'd have to assume payment on the same day, or use some algorythm to approximate the actual payment date. Assuming, of course, that there is no easy way to bet both Ex-Div AND scheduled payment date.

You need to enter this as an array formula.

That works. Thanks for the idea. I've decided that the cash flow difference for the simulation is tiny, so I'll ignore it for now. Got it working to include dividends this morning. THanks for your help!

I am trying to set up a new MacBook and have already created a fully functioning program using the SMF addin if I purchase a new MAC, do you know if the SMF addin will be able to be used without a windows partition?

As far as I know, it definitely will not work without the Windows partition
-- it uses a Windows reference library.
