That's because BCE:TO is a Yahoo ticker symbol and element #13862 is from
MSN. On MSN, the ticker symbol would be CA:BCE.
Because of the way element #13862 is defined, it's not picking up the
automatic conversion of the Canadian Yahoo ticker symbols into MSN ticker
symbols. That will be fixed in a newer version of the add-in. For now,
BCE.TO won't work with element #13862.

Randy,
It works fine now. Thanks a lot!
Btw, I understand your explanation but I am a bit puzzled since I have used the library for quite a while (I think a few years) and always used the same formula with ".TO" as an extension for Canadian stocks, using the MSN. Only lately did it start reporting the error.

It has to do with how the element is defined -- it can either be via saved
parameters (for the RCHGetTableCell() function), or via a saved function
(which gives element definitions more flexibility).
The "saved function" process is new. Anything using the "saved parameters"
would have had the Yahoo ticker symbol converted into an MSN ticker symbol
before the web page was retrieved. The new "saved function" process uses
the ticker symbol as given to the RCHGetElementNumber() function -- which
doesn't work on MSN if it has the .TO suffix.
Note that without the new "saved function" process, element #13862 would
have to be obsoleted, since it is no longer retrievable using saved
parameters for the RCHGetTableCell() function.
The process to convert Yahoo ticker symbols to other services has been
around for a few years now, although it only does basic conversions -- I
don't use the non-standard ticker symbols, so I don't have the problems
myself with things like Canadian stocks, preferred issues, warrants, etc.
In fact, I just added the Vancouver Exchange stocks to the conversion
because someone else noted them to me. If I'm given examples, I can usually
automate the conversions, as I can see how the different data sources
create their non-standard ticker symbols.
