Can't you just divide the dividends per share by the earnings per share to derive the ratio yourself? I have had good success with these two historical numbers from AdvFN.

These worked fine for me:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.reuters. com/finance/ ",1,">Revenue"stocks/incomeSta tement/\
detail?stmtType=INC&perType= INT&symbol= SOLB.BR )
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.reuters. com/finance/ ",1,">Total Inventory")stocks/incomeSta tement/\
detail?stmtType=BAL&perType= INT&symbol= SOLB.BR
...although I did have to create a cookie for the Reuters site first,
using the EXCEL Web Query dialog. Otherwise, I got "Error" returned.

I made my Excel(2003) sheet of Belgian companies, (using

AL&perType=INT&symbol=SOLB. BR
The url's seem still to be correct.
Curiously: just now, when the income sheet of SOLB.BR <http://SOLB.BR >
was open in IE, Excel actually managed to add-in the income data for
SOLB.BR <http://SOLB.BR > when opening the excel file-
but not for the other tickers,
no balance sheet data at all were added.
The cells for AB Inbev also work, since these rely on google finance
(ticker BUD) , not Reuters....
Hence, I believe that Reuters.com is somehow the problem.

That's an event-driven item you'd need to do yourself, since latest would
mean an instant refresh. That's not what the add-in does.

Randy, Currently, when I run a particular spreadsheet, it shows "Error" regarding MSN data, but retrieves other data. It also shows that I am using "Stock Market Functions add-in, Version RCH_Stock_Market_Functions- 2.1.2012. 04.07,C\Program Files (x86)\SMF Add-In;1)" and that includes "smf-elements- 1.txt" dated January 27, 2012 as it appears in Works In Progress .
You also have a revised "smf-elements-1.txt" in your entry dated May 10, 2012. I assume that this revision is of a date later than Jan 27, and could be dated May 10, although I can't tell. How do I get this latest revision into my SMF Add-In file to replace the current Jan 10 version? I have tried cut and paste, but get "access denied."
I am running Win7 and Excel 2010

You should exit EXCEL, download the new file and use it as a replacement
for the file in the add-in folder. I don't know what you're doing cut and
paste on, but I doubt it would replace a file that already exists.

Retrieving Information form morningstar for Australia stocks
Posted by: "mtr_os" mtr_os@yahoo.co.uk mtr_os

Hi there,
Apologies for the stupid question - Anyone know how I can retrieve data from morningstar using RCHGetElementNumber() for ASX listed equities?
I can get RCHGetElementNumber("IBM",878) to work but if I try to retrieve RCHGetElementNumber ("XASX:BHP" ,878) it doesn't work. I guess something wrong with the "XASX:BHP" label as most of the URL is identical. I have tried a number of combinations but no luck so far - any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.
Mal.

The element definitions come from a print report page on MorningStar, but
MorningStar doesn't have such a print page for Australian stocks, or at
least not for XASX:BHP -- it redirected me back to the quotes page instead.
