Can you explain what an add-in is and what it is used for?

Check the Overview document in the "Documentation" folder of the files area.
It has links to web pages that talk about add-ins.

My point exactly!!! That info gives me no idea how to setup Excel, how to setup the querys etc. Without some help it's useless to me and many others who would love to use your tool.
On the other hand it is. Great contribution you make to have this freely available.

The overview document DOES tell you how to set up EXCEL, then points you to
some common functions -- each with examples. And the other functions
documented in that folder all have examples within their documentation.
Where are you running into a problem?

Getting started

I've had enough experience with Excel to firmly believe that it can do anything I can think of. However I have also found that in order to accomplish anything I have to get a toe-hold by having just one cell entry return the desired result.
With this group you are now dealing with things far beyond my current interest. It would be most helpful if somewhere a simple first step in one cell were carefully explained.
Thanks
David

Each of the functions has documentation with examples. I'd start there.
