For financial statements, I use a combination of MSN Money (for last 5 quarters/years) and ADVFN (for older data).
I personally find MSN Money is the most reliable and timely data for financial statements from the providers that I have looked at.
They do suffer from some pigeon holing as well (restricted cash, deferred taxes) and ADVFN is better in that regard, but overall I find MSN has data for more stocks (esp. internationally), updates faster nd is more accurate.
ADVFN is nice but I have found in several instances inconsistencies/errors in financials so I tend to only use it where I can't get the appropriate data from MSN.
For ratios, I tend to calculate them myself so I can be sure of the methodology, but Morningstar is pretty good in that IMO they calculate most ratios consistently and correctly, and they explain their methodology on the site too.

Previously I have been using the SMF Addin to pull historical financial statement data for ASX companies off ADVFN for data >5 years old.
It seems now that ADVFN does not provide historical financial information on their site for ASX companies. Some companies have the current year financials, but that is it.
Has anyone else had the same issue/found a work around/know of another provider that provides >5 years of data for ASX companies?
I use MSN Money for the previous 5 years but also need data older than that.

Hi everyone, and especially Randy.
Is there a manual, giving step-by-step instructions for setting up a file that (for my purposes) drags stock quotes automatically into an Excel (2007), and other data that I might deem important?
I look at the documents saved in the Files section, but they all seem addressed to more advanced people looking to solve specific problems in documents they have already set up.

I believe all of the function documentation, found in the "Documentation"
folder of the files area have (simple) examples of that function in them.
Think of the functions as building blocks.
The RCHGetYahooQuotes() documentation also has a pointer to a step-by-step
example of creating a current quotes table (which is also item 2 pointed to
in the LINKS area of the Yahoo group).
Since I know you also deal with options, there is also an item in the LINKS
area of the Yahoo group that is an overview of using some of the various
option functions.

Will the smf_addin work in new Office 365?

Sounds like it should -- I just did a Google search and found this on an
MSFT forum:
"Office Pro Plus in Office 365 is the same Office bits as Office 2010, so
any VBA development you've done that works with Office 2010 today will
continue to work in Office 365."
However, I've also seen comments that VBA doesn't work with the Cloud
apps...
So maybe the answer is yes AND no?
Has anyone tried it?

Hi Randy,
Do you know of any site to get data for the RSI numbers, or any overbought - oversold data number.
Thanks
Steve

RSI is a pretty vague term. There are so many applications of it.
But BarChart has a bunch of them -- examples are in a template in the FILES
area of the group:

Hey guys, firstly I am so glad I found this community because I have been wondering how do some people keep their Excel sheets linked to the data on the web and update on new data...
I want to ask, how do I use this auto-update function for the historical quotes for certain tickers within a certain time range I need? Say historical quotes from Jan 2000 to Jan 2013.
Thanks a lot!

Why in the heck would you want to auto-update historical quotes? Yahoo only
changes them once per day.
Just use the RCHGetYahooHistory() as you need the quotes...
