Randy, Do you or anyone else know of a reliable place to get the next
EX-Dividend Dates?
Back in message 22829 you wrote: I prefer to estimate the forward
ex-dividend date myself, because too often the dividend is declared only a
few days ahead of the ex-dividend date.
My question is how do you do that? Do you have a spreadsheet that calculates
it? Do you do it manually? Is it just a best guess?
You, also, listed several yahoo key statistic elements that contain dividend
information.
Unfortunately, there are a great many reasonable yielding dividend stocks
that Yahoo does not have in its key statistics function.
Any idea how yahoo determines which stocks they list?
Here is a short list of stocks that do not have Yahoo Key statistics:
ARCC
GMLP
PFLT
BGB
EOD
FDUS
FEI
FEZ
GBDC
PNNT
REM
SIR
TAN
TCPC
TEI
WHF

I just look at when they paid the dividend last year and use that as an
estimate. But I'm applying it to Dividend Champions, that have a
long-established record of dividends. I wouldn't necessarily apply that to
every company.
Otherwise, I get my ex-dividend dates from TDAmeritrade. I'm sure I've
given the formula on the forum before. Just do a search of the message
archives.
No clue as to Yahoo's criteria for having a Key Statistics page.

Hi,
RCH element numbers 1286 - 1512, linked to earnings.com data no longer work and return errors. I understand this is because the source website has changed. Reading the strings in yahoogroups, I'm not clear on how to update the definitions, could you please let me know how I change the links so that the data is fed from the new site.
Thanks
Larry

At this point, I don't know of any web pages that contain the data. The
replacement site someone found disappeared a few days later...

Hi Randy
Currently the RCHGetTable functions point to a url. Would it also work if I already have that page saved in my local drive and want the function to point to the local page instead?
thanks

Sure. I've done that before. Here is an example:
=RCHGetTableCell("file:///C:/Users/Randy/Documents/Temp/sctr.html ",5,"?c=T,")
In this case, it had been a dynamically displayed web page. But, by saving
it to my hard drive, the dynamic data is now stored within the file.

This changed last week -
If I run this:
RCHGetTableCell("http://ca.advfn.com/p.php?pid=qkquote&symbol=ALA ",4,">Cur",,,,1)
and I'm not logged in, it returns "37.24"
If I'm logged in I get:
37.24$(function() { htmlstFeedManager.on("stream", function() { set_streaming_field( "#quoteElementPiece6", "T^ALA", "CAD", DataSource.CUR_PRICE, true, 1 ); }); });
I assume they have changed the quotes to stream from static and I can just strip the price out. Or maybe I should be using a different function?
Thanks

Yes, it may be setting things up to do streaming quotes when you're logged
in...
I think you have the right function, but you'll need to parse that out if
it shows up.
