It looks like ADvFN site is working again, but the getadvfnelement is still not working, as it is still displaying the last 5 qtrs only.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Not working here. As before, it may take several days for the changes to
get rolled out to all servers.

I don't get there if I go through the AdvFN web site.
However, if I use the "smf-AdvFN-Prefix.txt" file and set the prefix to
"ih", the element numbers appear to work again.

I would like to take a stab at getting it to work by changing the prefix as you suggested, so that I could finish the project I was working on before the site change.
So would the change have to be done in the modgetadvfnelement macro itself? Is that done in the "Sub" portion only? If you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction, maybe the temp fix could help me get this project done.
Thanks a bunch.

OOPS, got ahead of myself with last post.
I created a txt file to add the prefix, which is far easier. I'm new here, didn't realize how well thought out your creation is.
Truly beautiful! Thanks Randy

What you need to do is create a file in the same folder as add-in, called
"smf-AdvFN-Prefix.txt", All the file should contain is the two letters
"ih". You can create the file with Notepad. This file overrides the add-in
default, and the add-in will then use the "ih" version of the URL instead
of the default "www" version of the URL.
Either exit and restart EXCEL, or run the smfForceRecalculation macro to
have it pick up the new prefix.
Just delete the file when you want to go back to the default.
I added this as an external file, so people wouldn't need to go in and edit
the VBA every time a new release was available.

Yes, the formula in B2 needs to be array-entered into the single cell. It is an array-processing formula -- note the B12:B142 and B13:B143 ranges. When the formula is array entered, it will cycle through those two arrays, doing all the necessary comparisons to see if the dividend changed. That is, B12 vs B13, then B13 vs B14, ..., and finally B142 vs B143. If the comparison is true it sets the result of that comparison to the row number. Otherwise, is sets the result to 999. Then the MIN() function finds the minimum row number, which would be the most recent dividend change.
If you don't array-enter it, it will give you a #VALUE error.
Yes, the RCHGetYahooHistory() function is also array-entered. But over a range. And for a different purpose.
If you really want to see what is happening internally, array-enter the inner part of the formula:
=IF(B12:B142>B13:B143,ROW(B12:B142),999)
...over the C12:C142 range. That will show you the result of each individual comparison the formula is doing, showing either 999 or the row number, depending on whether there was a dividend increase. But I just want a single value, so I use a MIN() function on that array. Since the MIN() returns a single value, I only need to enter it into a single cell. However, I still need the function to do the array processing, so I need to array-enter it into that single cell.

Array-entered formulas of this type can be extremely powerful. And frustrating.
