Hi Randy
By any chance, do you know if Yahoo is having some trouble with these formulas: RCHGetYahooHistory and
smfPricesBetween ? I can't get any data for September 17th. Any other date works fine.
As usual, thanks for your help
Robert

I've been checking Yahoo's website. It doesn't appear historical data for
Sept. 16 has been loaded yet. Unfortunately, this happens 2 - 3 times /
year where they don't get the data loaded for a day or so.

It looks like nothing has historical quotes for 9/17.
You can use the "Send Feedback" link at the bottom of the page to let Yahoo
know.

ya this is strange. the website wont even load on IE. do you think they could have seen me as a security threat so they blocked my access. I did try to create a zacks spreadsheet with a lot of the metrics from the website with maybe like 8 different columns of info for around 200 stocks. the eror message on the website says. "The website has declined to show this webpage" and as a suggestion below under most likely cause it says, "This website requires you to log in. And this is just for their home page. I wont let me gain access to any part of their website. Any help would be appreciated although im sure your just as stumped as me. Thanks.

I'm not sure there is anything I can do. We had something strange with
Zacks in the past, when someone posted this:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/23344
So I don't know if Zacks is doing something to throttle your use, or what?

I just noticed that my spreadsheet is now giving me an error message for the zack numbers.
I just went to their website and entered, as an example , the ticker 'T' and saw this at their website in the top right corner:
At&t Inc: (T) (Delayed quote from: NYSE) As of Sep 19, 2014 12:04 AM ET Add to portfolio
ZacksTrade Now $35.16 USD
+0.14 (0.40%)
Volume: 17,236,314
Zacks Rank : NA [?]

One person in our office uses his Mac successfully. He has Parallels for Mac, and Windows (this is the exact Windows one would load on a PC) on his computer, both have a cost, but everything works with both the Parallels program and the Windows operating system.

I think it has been several years since I've had to ask a question, everything usually either runs smoothly or I can find my own mistakes, but this one has me stumped.
I retrieve option quotes for specific options by concatenating the ticker symbol, month and year of expiration, strike price, and whether is it a Put or Call into one cell, say G18. Then I use the command =smfGetOptionQuotes(G18,"zba") array entered into 3 cells to retrieve the name of the option, as well as its bid and ask prices. So for instance G18 might be
afl 1 2015 57.5 P
and the data returned is
AFL150117P00057500 1.82 1.98 But anything beyond Jan 2015 for instance
afl 2 2015 57.5 P
returns errors. Ditto for a hundred other tickers, dates, and strike prices. Jan 2015 and before works, Feb 2015 and beyond does not.
I have tried taking the concatenation step out and just hard coding the option specifics into the smfGetOptionQuotes command, with the same result - anything beyond Jan 2015 returns errors, even though the data is there on Yahoo's website.
In searching the past conversations, I've seen some possible explanations as non-standard options or weekly expiration dates, but I don't think that is the case here.
I have had issues in the past where my two computers behaved differently - some commands returning ticker symbol dependent errors on one computer, but not the other. Never fully understood why, but a system restore to an earlier point in time resolved the issue. But this time, both computers are acting the same.
Any ideas appreciated.
Ralph

That's because all monthly expirations after 2015-02-01 will be on Fridays
instead of Saturdays in order to align to the weekly option expiration
dates. My version of the add-in has been fixed for that change, but it
hasn't been released yet. For now, as a work-around, you'll need to use the
"mm/dd yyyy" format of the date to give it the exact expiration date,
instead of just month and year.
