RE: [smf_addin] please guide me to the most stable RCH / SMF addin spread sheet(s) as on date

Hi, Randy,

Taking advantage of the opportunity of these questions related to Gurufocus I have some doubts related to the data available, namely with regard to its reliability in relation to SEC reports and also if has non-GAAP data as reported by the companies.

Collecting this information manually has been a huge time consuming although your add-in helps a lot in that context.

Many thanks for your excellent and tireless support.

Thanks Randy for the quick revert

I understand that the ad in itself is free. Again Thanks to you.

What is the bare minimum or the most basic Guru focus subscription that I should take for this RCH / SMF add in to work properly ?

If I do not need a 10 year information and I choose only five year information are there free sources?

REGARDS

Subu

The add-in is free. It's more a collection of data retrieval functions than an investment application.

The two most used functions would be smfGetYahooPortfolioView() (for current quotes) and smfGetYahooHistory() (for historical quotes). There are templates on the web page for the add-in.

After that, it's primarily smfGetTagContent() to get contents between HTML tags, to extract data from the passed on source code (not from rendered pages), and RCHGetWebData(), to extract data from the raw source code of the web page.

Unfortunately, a lot of templates aren't working, because websites have taken measures to prevent something like the add-in from scraping data. For example, MorningStar, AdvFN, BarChart, ...

Is there a base spreadsheet to start?
