Hi All,
I wanted to share 2 post Hurricane Sandy assessments we completed using Excel VBA. Both are animations.
This one shows an animated graph of the observed water surface elevation in Delaware Bay at various NOAA PORTS stations compared to predictions based on harmonic constituents, making clear the impact of the storm surge. It also includes an animation of the hurricane eye following the reported path.

The second one shows the response of USGS gages in the Delaware River Basin on a map. Even though the animation was finalized in ARC GIS, all the data retrieval and processing was performed using an automated tool written in Excel VBA.

Hope you find these informative.
