What I'm  SUSPECTING is that the macro modules are actually being duplicated as 
  an "add-in".
  Normally, the add-in would be a hidden workbook.
  the hidden workbook would be copied to the xlstart folder so that whenever excel 
  opens, the hidden workbook opens.
  
  If that's the case, then we just need to go to his xlstart folder and remove the 
  file.
  
  we'll see once he posts the view of the project explorer.
