Rene, I tried to send this to you personally, rather than posting on
SMF-ADDin. But could not get it to go your email address. So I am posting it
to the group. In my opinion it should be done offline, since this has more
to do with your trading than the use of Randy's terrific addin.
What caught my attention was this statement in your posting:
"I keep hoping they grow their eps, so they will raise their dividends"
Sorry, but hope has no business in investing or trading. Fact is EXC
dividends drop 37% in 2013 and will likely drop in 2014. Fact is, they paid
ZERO dividends in 2010 thru 2012. Based on www.dividend.com
I teach folks how to trade the market. One of my published works is a High
Yield dividend trading strategy which I sell on my website
www.tradingourway.com.
BUT I am not responding to sell you anything. Please do not purchase
anything from my website at this point, later maybe but not yet.
If you are interesting in my help read the rest of this email and reply.
Tell me:
1. The type of investor you are. I am assuming you are a long term
trader, buy and hold.
2. How you pick your trades,
3. How you determine your position size, AKA number of shares, dollar
about.
4. How do you determine your risk and potential reward.
5. Do you know how to read a stock chart and use of indicators?
6. How you find the dividend stocks you trade.
7. I have lots more questions for you but this will due for a start.
I do not want to know the size of your account. Truth is, account size has
very little to do with trading properly and profitable.
If you are not interested in my help, I wish you good luck. Checkout
<http://www.dividata.com> www.dividata.com (FREE) and
<http://www.dividend.com> www.dividend.com (FREE and FEE) both are excellent
dividend sites. Be careful trying to trade high yielding stocks without
knowing how to do it.
When I read your posting where you bought EXC at 39 and still holding it I
realized you need some real help.
Whether you are a trader or an investor you need a plan before you open a
position in a stock. I teach folks how to determine multiple price points
before they enter a trade. You need to know the entry price, that is the
easiest part of trading or investing. You need to know your worst case
stop-loss in case you are dead wrong as we all are at some point in our
trading and investing. You need to know your expected profit price points.
Otherwise, you are the exact type of trader/investor that the crooks on
Wallstreet are looking for.
Right now I am on a 2 week vacation but I be home next week. If you want
to continue a discussion offline send me an email
atkermitp@tradingourway.com
You must have brought EXC by in August 2012 or sooner when it peaked.
Later, I'll share with you my top high yield dividend stock Watchlist.

Armando,
I use Peter Hoadley's (subscription required) to calculate the probability of touching for my investing system. We use it to find the + percentage change that will be reached 80% of the time within 100 days, based on stock volatility fed into the PoT algorithm. From this we set our sell price target. I also use SMF (from Randy) to download the data fed into the Hoadley algos, and for SO much more!

Thanks a lot Pete... Actually I use ToS, but was thinking of
automating some at the desktop rather than looking one/one in
ToS.
Cheers,
Armando
