IBD has changed the format for their stock checkup. I want to extract the 5 group leaders individually into separate cells. The formulae that I had been using are:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://research.investors.com/Quote.aspx?symbol="&$A$1,1,"groupLdrsTable",,,,1,"</table")
=RCHGetTableCell("http://research.investors.com/Quote.aspx?symbol="&$A$1,1,"groupLdrsTable",,,,2,"</table")
etc.
Can you tell me what I need to change?

=RCHGetTableCell("http://research.investors.com/Quote.aspx?symbol="&$A$1,1,"groupLdrsTable",,,,1,"</table")

etc.

The table that you referred to is no longer on that page.
You need to search the source code of the page to locate the data you want and then changes the formula.
Hard to assist since you did not provide what the data was you wanted.
Good luck,
Kermit

This template:
RCHGetTableCell-Template-IBD-Stock-Checkup.xls
...still retrieves the group leaders for each rating category. However, I
did have to fix the A/D rating because of their changes to the web page. I
just uploaded the revision.

That's something you can do by editing your identity -- you can add email
addresses:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/management/membership
I have no trouble accessing files on any Yahoo groups with my gmail
address, so it may not be the email address. Not sure what would cause the
problem.
I just uploaded it to the SMF web site, so you could grab it from there:

Hmmm. When you're on the Yahoo Group page, click on the "Membership"
drop-down box. You want the "Edit Membership" option from the drop-down.
The section on "Identity" allows you to add or change email addresses that
you want to use for the group.

Hi Randy,
Loving your work and the smf addin, it is great.
Just downloaded your IDB Stock-Checkup.xls but getting error and value in the cells. I have logged in to investors.com via IE and also used the smf fix links macro but no joy.
Do you need to be a premium subscriber to IBDs' investors.com use this template or is there something else I need to do?
Many thanks,
James

IBD has so many different membership options, I'm not even sure what
"premium" means. If you can view a stock checkup page in IE, the add-in
should be able to use the same IE cookie to access that web page. But I
would think the proprietary data on that web page would require some level
of "premium" membership.
Or, did you log in BEFORE using the template? If not, you may need to run
the smfForceRecalculation macro to get a fresh copy of the web page after
you logged in.
Another possibility is that the IE object that EXCEL uses is not the same
as your browser version. If that is the case, you'll need to log in using
the EXCEL Web Query dialog (keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w), so that you use
that IE object.
A quick check of that would be to open the EXCEL Web Query dialog and see
if you can bring up a Stock Checkup page.

Hi, Is there any way to extract historical EOD Option Chains by date(day to day) for each expiry date from any of the data sources(Yahoo, MSN,etc.)?

I don't know of any free sources of historical option quotes that work
reliably. If you do find a source, make sure it has closing bid and ask
prices. Last traded price would be unreliable since it could be hours or
even days old.

Thank you. I've searched the internet and have only found 2-3 places that have this data but it's not free. The best site appeared to be http://www.tbspinc.com/ http://www.tbspinc.com/ for around $50 per month. They might just be a bargain since they have other historical data with unlimited downloading. Thank you for responding so quickly.

I have been using for a long time:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://Research.investors.com/StockResearch/Quote.aspx?symbol="&A3,1,"groupLdrsTable",,,,1,"</table")
(changing the 1 near the end to 2 or 3 or 4 or 5) to pull the IBD top 5 for the Industry group that the symbol in A3 is in.
Also, while I am still getting most of the other fields I want from IBD a couple others also stopped working on Thursday:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://Research.investors.com/StockResearch/StockCheckup.aspx?symbol="&A3,1,">Acc/Dis Rating")
=RCHGetTableCell("http://Research.investors.com/StockResearch/StockCheckup.aspx?symbol="&A3,1,">EPS Est % Chg (Current Yr)")
I think IBD has changed the structure of their page - any advice/suggestions?

Check the new version of the template I uploaded earlier today.
If I remember correctly, ">Acc/Dis" was changed to
">Accumulation/Distribution" and ">EPS Est % Chg (Current Yr)" was changed
to ">EPS Est % Chg for Current Year".
All of the group leader items I had on the template were still working, so
I didn't need changes there.
