Most problems crop up when a web site changes their web layout. If they are messing around with layout frequently it will break the functions until they are re-jiggered. But stuff like yahoo doesn't change. No problems as long as you stick to the commonly used sites, such as for yahoo historical quotes, etc. Their API has not changed hardly at all for years. The most common posts on this site seem to focus on people having trouble with configuration or syntax. If you get that figured out & stick to the most stable sites it works really well. My experience has been nothing but grief with Excel 2016 & the SMF Add-In. It simply doesn't work about 70% of the time. For example, the simple formula: =smfGetEconData("AAA",TODAY()) returns #NAME in the cell. I'm given an error that says the formula contains unrecognized text. There is no problem with Excel 2010.
Hope you have better luck.

#NAME? in that situation usually means the add-in hasn't been activated
through the add-in manager...
I just got a new Win 10 laptop, and am trying to decide between EXCEL 2013
and EXCEL 2016.

I am contemplating taking the plunge. Has anyone experienced any issues with
SMF after having done so?
Works fine for me! But I also use 2010 sometimes for the MDI which is
missing from 2013 and uu.

I can assure you that it has been activated. However, the problems I'm having with Excel 2016 extend much further than the SMF Add In. Examples:
1. Double click on a file doesn't open the file. 2. Right click on the file opens 2 copies of Excel, both blank - empty. 3. Open a copy of an SMF file to find nothing but #NAME in all cells. Open the exact same file 5 minutes later & all's OK.
I could go on...
