I decided to finally upgrade to Windows 10 (from 8.1) and the SMF works find except for IBD (Investors.com).
I log in with IE 11 before I start Excel. When I try to retrieve from investors.com in Excel with the SMF I get "Error" for all the IBD data (yet my Zacks, Morningstar, Finviz and Barchart all work fine) and the IBD worked find under Win 8.1?
When I try to log-into IBD through Excel I seem to be going to IE (the URL pulldown for websites is consistent with the settings I have for IE) but I am not already logged into the three sites (IBD, Zacks, Morningstar) which in the past (Win 8.1) I was shown as logged in when I went to them from Excel?
I have made IE my default browser. I am using Excel 2013 and IE 11.
Any advice?
Fred

And a P.S., when I try to login to Investors.com through the Excel browser window I get a never-ending bunch of Script Errors and end up having to use Task Manager to kill Excel.

In the past, I have seen situations where the IE object used by EXCEL is
not the same version of IE that is used as a browser. In those instances,
it has been a requirement that the IE object needs to be used for the
login.
I've gotten lots of script errors in the past when using the IE object, and
have only rarely had to use task manager to kill EXCEL. I know how
frustrating that can be.
Currently, I have a strange situation -- my version of IE (and the IE
object) is no longer available for the IBD web site. Too old. When I've
tried to update IE, I get all kind of warnings about other things not being
current, so I gave up. EXCEL's use of IE is really the only one I use
anyway.
Anyway, long story short (too late?), I had to find another way to log into
IBD using the IE object. This URL works for me:
http://www.investors.com/Services/SiteAjaxService.asmx/MemberSingIn?strEmail=xxxxx&strPassword=yyyyy&blnRemember=True
...when I substitute my email address fo "xxxxx" and my password for
"yyyyy". I end up on a page with a system message, but it indicates my
login worked (more or less). Note that "signin" is misspelled in the URL. :)
Here's a message in a thread about a similar problem:

Note that if you are successful logging in with the IE object, IBD will
probably log you out of your IE browser session. IBD doesn't always allow
different browsers to be used at the same time. It can be a real pain. I
wonder if this might be why the other websites work fine with the IE
logins, but not IBD?
P.S.: Using this URL in the EXCEL Web Query dialog should tell you which
version of IE that EXCEL is using:
