The formula RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker, 4924), which used to retrieve the annual indicated dividend per share from Yahoo Finance does not seem to be working anymore, returns NA for a wide variety of tickers.

That's because Yahoo is populating their web pages with the "NA" values...

Randy,
Thanks. Your URL based login worked - thanks.
I also ran the web query re the version of IE and got:
Excel: IE browser version: 11True IE Browser version: 11.0.10586.0IE Browser Version (derived from navigator.useragent): 7IE browser document mode: 7
from IE using the web query I got something differentIE browser version: 11True IE Browser version: nullIE Browser Version (derived from navigator.useragent): 11IE browser document mode:11
and the help/about in IE had a version: 11.11.10586.0 which seems consistent with Excell.
when I have time I may re-load IE or call Microsoft and see if they can tell me what is going on.
Fred

hi,
i've been using the addin for many years. i recall the gurufocus spreadsheet that graphed the financial report data. alas, that broke a long time ago and since then i've tried to resurrect that capability with advfn and others. seems that when i just get settled with something, it gets broken. this weekend i tried again to update my template, using the smf advfn template spreadsheet. 10 years of annual data plus lots of quarterly data - just what i was looking for. so, away i plugged, updating my all the chart series to point to the appropriate places. after a chunk of hours saturday afternoon and evening, when i would change stock tockers, advfn startedf yto not return data. sometimes annual data, sometimes quarteerly data, sometimes both.
today i check for all the add-in updates, and i have them all. and i started again with a fresh copy from the templates web page. Alas, again intermittent, weird results. sometimes data, sometimes none. typical tickers, such as good, msft, nflx, pcar, ba.
any thoughts or suggestions? i even tried using the get web data from advfn and logging in, ala the ibd website, but no avail.
i'm using windows 8 and excel 2010. no changes there for a long time.
thanks much.
Mike

I know AdvFN had problems today. I tried to go to the website several times
with my browser and was getting "Bad Gateway" messages. So it's probably
just a temporary issue you ran into.
Have you tried the latest GuruFocus template, that uses an add-in function
to access the data (from the "Works in Progress" web page)? You will need
the most recent version of the add-in for that -- 2015.07.08 or later.
For the most part, I stopped using AdvFN earlier this year and became a
subscribing member of GuruFocus. There were just too many times I was
finding "stale" or incorrect data on AdvFN. And the few times I've noticed
issues on GuruFocus, I've gotten quick responses when I've contacted them.
And either the data was fixed, or I got a satisfactory explanation of why
the data wasn't what I thought it was supposed to be.
