Is this file working for anyone?

It was working fine yesterday for me, but has errors on most fields today.

I have a feeling that the data is not accessible anymore.

Anyone else have any views on this?

Looks like MSN redesigned their financial statements pages. They changed a
lot of labels, and dropped a number of line items.

Thanks Randy for the quick response.

I only started using this stuff yesterday (so I thought I was going mad!), I was really impressed how easy it was to link all the fields into all the cash flow modelling spreadsheets "Financial Import" tab. I did actually have a thought at the back of my mind about how often they may reformat this data, or whether they will stop publishing it any time soon :(

Can anyone that is using the cash flow modelling spreadsheets make suggestions on how they have now replaced the missing data?

Hi Randy

With regards to the 1000-page limit, I could swear on a previous post you mentioned there was a command/function to return the number of pages that have been cache/downloaded.
I have searched through the posts but cannot find it.

Have I been drinking too much again? ;-)

Many thanks in advance,

Steve

Nothing like that exists that I know of...

Although it could be done manually via something like:

=SUM((smfGetAData(1,1)<>""),(smfGetAData(2,1)<>""),(smfGetAData(3,1)<>""),
..., (smfGetAData(1000,1)<>""))

Since each of those would contain a URL if the slot was being used.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for the prompt reply - that's good enough for me.

All the best,

Steve

hello randy,

ah, i can see why i couldn't get it

I was referring to the webpage itself for the reference points.

The reason is the source code is way way way too messy and complex and i have difficulty getting it

But, it works like a charm as always and i am now looking back at the source code to learn more about it

thanks!

Sigh. It looks like MSN is starting to go through their annual "let's
change our web pages" process...

I've upload a new smf-element-1.txt file to the "Works in Progress" folder
with the new element definition.

I see that MSN has changed things around. It seems they also changed data providers.

I sometimes use the Excel MSN web query (Stock Quotes Provided by MSN Money)and note that it's now limited to 50 quotes per query.

Also note that the company name is now all upper case. Some quotes no longer available (for warrants) in the Cdn market.

All this changed yesterday.

Thanks for fixing the company name from MSN. I am also getting errors retrieving elements number 35 and 35 (moving averages) and 27, 28, and 29 (price changes).

Thanks!
