I'm not quite understanding what you're saying, but this may be the issue
that first occurred in July of 2016 because MicroSoft issued some security
updates. It's not letting EXCEL load the add-in when EXCEL starts up. For a
workaround suggested by Microsoft, until they supposedly fix the issue, see:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smf_addin/conversations/messages/30568

Otherwise, I'll need more details.

Yes that seems to be the issue. And I think it happened about a new update went onto Windows 10 the other day.

Here a the steps I take:
1. I Click the Data tab, then Edit links
2. I click Change Source and locate the Stock Mkt Function file
3. When I click check status is says Source Unknown (ie it is not picking up the file)

I tried the steps in the link, but I can not see when you unblock a file.

Does this help with my issue.

Thanks

I've never found the "Edit Links" option to work very well. In any case, it
would only address a links issue for a given workbook, not for EXCEL in
general.

You need to use the Windows File Explorer to unblock a file. A Google
search should find several examples. I've never done it myself.

I'm having a similar problem. Need to run the Fix Links macro every time I load an SMF workbook. Not a big deal; just a minor annoyance. However, this is only happening after a reinstallation of Windows 10.

How do you do this
Right click anywhere on the workbook. At bottom of the pop-up menu, scroll down to SMF. A sub menu appears with an option to Fix Links. Click on that.

I right clicked on a cell in the workbook. There is nothing there when I right click that relating to SMF.

Is the add-in activated in the add-in manager?

You shouldn't need to do it again for the same workbook, if it has been
saved after links were fixed.

EXCEL saves a hard-coded location of the add-in whenever you save a
workbook. If the add-in isn't in that hard-coded location the next time
that workbook is opened, you get "unresolved link" errors and need to run
the smfFixLinks macro. But if that workbook is saved, with the new location
of the add-in, it should find the add-in the next time the workbook is
opened.

But that will be on a workbook by workbook basis...

Where do you have the add-in located?

You should be doing it with the add-in manager.

- The Add-in is always activated - I need to go to "Edit Link" (under Data) in order to activate the SMF function - I don;t know why but I do
- The Version of SMF is from Jan.24/18
- The issue only started happening after a new update went on my computer from windows
- the SMFConvertData also doe snot work. It puts a blank in the cell.
