Nothing that I can do. You can use the "Send Feedback" link on the quotes
page of the stock to let Yahoo know that their CSV file is not providing
correct data:
http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=BMRI.JK&f=swk&e=.csv
Otherwise, it may just be a temporary thing. I don't know if they provide
CSV data for ".JK" stocks.
You could just use the RCHGetTableCell() function to get the data yourself.
Since you're not array-entering the formula, it may actually be faster to
do that if you're getting multiple fields with RCHGetYahooQuotes(). For
example:
=RCHGetTableCell("http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BMRI.JK",1,"52wk Range:")

I can't say if that's normal or not. I usually only get one or two option
chains. But it would depend on which functions you're using and which data
source you're using. For example, I use OptionsXPress even though it's
slow, because it has much more reliable data.
It does sound high though.

yweinstock your great work on the new ADVFN financial template is
not all for not. The reason for the errors is that in both the

To pull in the ANNUAL data for microsoft replace in the

Hi Randy,
I just joined this group and started using your plugin. As an engineer
myself, I am impressed with the effort you have put in to make all this
work, so thank you.
I replied to this thread because I am experiencing the same issue that Bill
is. I receive an "Error" for both elements 13862 and 13863 when I enter the
equations "=RCHGetElementNumber("IBM",13862)" and
"=RCHGetElementNumber("IBM",13863)" respectively. The statements
"=RCHGetElementNumber("Element",13862)" and
"=RCHGetElementNumber("Element",13863)" both work, and several other
elements I am using work.
I also ran your suggested test listed in one of the replies and received the
same result "3M Co" as Bill.
Just like Bill I am using Microsoft Excel 2010 Professional on a Windows 7
machine.
Thank you
Isaac

Aha! I just looked at my change log. I did change the 13862 definition on
6/19. That may explain why it works for me and not for you guys. You may
just need a new copy of the smf-elements-1.txt file, with the new
definition.
PS: I never replied to the message you're replying to because I never
received it. Lately, it seems some messages come a day or two late. Not
often, but I've seen it more than once in the last month.

Randy, there is some strange stuff going on today. Turns out my failure of the 13862 element is due to my long running MSN issue on my Vista 64 bit desktop.
You can probably ignore the rest of this message. Other than the new issue which I'll document in a new posting.
First, I thought I had the latest smf-elements-1.txt file But when I attempted to go online to the SMF-addin group Yahoo I get screen formats I have never seen before.
Is it just me or has Yahoo changed the layouts?
If this is their new format I think it sucks.
I get a list of files folder but I could not figure out how to access the files.
Well, I finally figured out how to open the smf-elements-1.txt file an hour later. I downloaded it and replaced the version I had even though visually they look the same.
Here is the definition I have for element 13862 in smf-elements01.txt file: I have no way of telling if it is the right level since there is no version code in the file and windows show a 7/24/2013 date as the last update in the folder.
Would you consider putting a last change date in the files at some point?
MY previous version
13862;MSN;Company Name;=TRIM(smfGetTagContent("http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity&Symbol=~~~~~","h1",0,"title="""))
My newly downloaded version
13862;MSN;Company Name;=TRIM(smfGetTagContent("http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity&Symbol=~~~~~","h1",0,"title="""))
I can't see any difference and I still get the error. But then I remembered that I have on-going problems with MSN elements on My Vista 64 bit system. I have not been able to resolve the MSN issue
So I tried it on my Windows 7 32 bit machine I then discovered I could not get the smfFixLinks macro to convert the links to the new system. I'll post a new message on this issue.

I'm not real happy with the new Yahoo Groups either. Especially the FILES
area. I don't see any way to get the full description of a file. I'd also
like to get rid of the "cover" at the top that takes up half the page. They
remove it when looking at a conversation, but not when looking at files.
If you have MSN problems, element 13862 is NOT going to work. It is an MSN
element.
The element definition file does have the ability to have comments. When it
loads definitions, it ignores all lines that have an apostrophe in the
first byte of the line. So I could add a last change date as the first
record of a file.
My ability to help on your new system may be limited, since I don't have
that environment here and would have no way to reproduce any issues.

Randy, It took me several attempts to find out why the smfFixLinks macro
would not work sometimes.
I'm not sure there is anything you can do about this issue. Just thought I'd
document it for others.
I keep my master files on one computer and I reference them from other
computers.
Normally, I'll copy the file to another computer to test a new function.
But, sometimes I'll just open it and save it on the new computer and then
work on it.
That's when I had problems changing the links.
Maybe someone can try this if they have multiple computers. Let me know the
results.
Maybe I am doing something wrong. Wouldn't be the first or last time.
I have 5 computers on my local network:
1. I create or save a file that contains smf-addin references in one
computer
2. I, then, open that saved file from another computer in my network
3. I save and close the file on the new computer
4. I open the saved file on the new computer
5. I execute the smfFixLinks macro but nothing gets changed.
I can change the link manually but not with the macro.
If I copy the file from the original saved computer to another computer.
Then open it in the new computer I can run smfFixLinks and it works.

What do the unresolved links look like -- a formula in the cell with the
location attached?
EXCEL may be resolving links differently since things are on the same
network. Hmmm.

The full URL I use in FIreFox is:
view-source:
http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=MMM,IBM&f=sl1&e=.csv
..which gives me:
"MMM",118.25
"IBM",190.34
I don't know of any comprehensive list of all the codes. Yahoo hasn't
documented them that I know of, other than they are used with their
portfolios. But the codes can be a-z, a0-z0, ..., a9-z9. Some contain HTML
code, which is used by the portfolio display.

Thanks Randy.
It was that colon after view-source I had no idea to put in.
Take care,
Jim

I've tried several different ways of typing the view-source in front of the URL and none of them work. Can you please give us the specific way to type that? Is there a slash or period, etc.?
