Hi,

I have the same problem in using smfGetOptionQuotes for 2016
AAPL. It works flawlessly with 2015 AAPL.

Work around will be using smfGetYahooOptionQuote.

It works just fine for Apple 2015 options, but just shows "error"
for the 2016 Apple options. Am I doing something wrong? Where
are the option quotes pulled from? Perhaps that site is not
showing option prices that far out.

Randy,

I come across the same problem and in particular I am looking for
the quote of AAPL Jan 2016 500 Put.

Thanks

Alan

I don't understand the expiration date they are using for Jan 2016. Those
options are using the Friday date as the expiration date, but for all other
monthly cases, they expire on Saturday.

In any case, specifying the exact expiration date does work, as in:

=smfGetOptionQuotes("AAPL 1/15 2016 500 Put","b")

Even after resolving the links, I'm unable to recalculate with
new ticker symbols. Part of the problem may be that the
following URL doesn't seem to be working (of course, I replaced
"Exchange"; and "Ticker" with actual names when testing):

http://www.advfn.com/exchanges/"&Exchange&"/"&Ticker&"/financials\
?btn=annual_reports&mode=company_data&isfull=1&bsfull=1&cffull=1&\
effull=1&vrfull=1&grfull=1&fhfull=1&prfull=1

Has anyone else had similar issues? Did ADVFN change their URL
again? Thanks.

If you saw a location in front of the function, adding the add-in
to that location doesn't help. You have to resolve the link
errors before it can do the recalculation you need.

Check the "Location errors" item in the LINKS area of the Yahoo
group. Or try just running the smfFixLinks macro that is part of
the add-in.

First, my thanks to John Babcock for the new ADVFN 10-yr
financial spreadsheet that works with the changes to the ADVFN
website. It will be a lifesaver once I get it to update.

That's my problem, the spreadsheet won't recalculate when I enter
a new ticker.

F9 changes the company and exchange info cells as well as the URL
cells John includes. But all the data is $0.00. There are no
error codes.

I noticed the spreadsheet uses C:/SMF for the Add-in location, I
created that. I've had the add-in installed at C:/Program
Files/SMF Add-in for several years. I made sure the Add-in is
active in the Excel Options.

Any clues why the data doesn't update?
