I was up late last night and made some progress
The info that bushpilote provided helped. However, I am unable to
retrieve anything prior to 2012 for the financial statements. And
I am unable to retrieve anything prior to 2009 for the ratios.
Replying to what bushpilote said here: "In ADVFN's beta version

name (the name they have in their database) and ticker along
with the exchange ticker symbol."
After poking around, I've been able to get this path to work:

Yeah.... Looks like I spoke too soon.
The spreadsheet returns errors now as the site reverted to the
old structure. Perhaps we caught a glimpse of an unintended
early release. Guess it's back to the waiting game..

Exactly. They don't seem to have their act together at all.
Makes me have second thoughts about the quality of the data!

data. The site redirects you to the page with the company that
only shows 5 years of data. The only way that I could figure out
to work around that is to use a lookup table in Excel that lists
the ADVFN URL "company name" for each ticker symbol. So you
enter the ticker, the table populates the URL company name and
exchange, then sends the fully formed URL to ADVFN.com. I
populated it with about the top 3000 companies.
The resulting spreadsheet is uploaded to the "Upload by Forum
Members" directory. I hope that you find it helpful.

The FinViz screener does allow sorting, but I don't see an "unsorted, leave
as is" option.
If you want to sort and filter, you'll have to convert the array to values.
You could have VBA do that, or do it manually. You could even have a little
macro that would fill the data onto the page AS values. For example, just
one statement:
Range("A1:D3") = smfGetCSVFile("
http://finviz.com/export.ashx?v=152&t=MMM,IBM&c=1,2,3,4", pDim1:=3,
pDim2:=4)
The two pDim variables tell the smfGetCSVFile() function how many rows and
columns to return.

INTC 2011 for example.
High Formula
=smfpricesbetween("INTC",DATE(2011,1,1),DATE(2011,12,31),"04") = $24.1826
Low Formula
=smfpricesbetween("INTC",DATE(2011,1,1),DATE(2011,12,31),"06") = $17.6912
When I pull the historical prices from the Yahoo finance pages to compare - INTC, daily for 2011, I can't find a match for my results.
This is what I find for the annual Highs and Lows.
High Values
12/07/2011 - High $25.78, Close $25.66, Adjusted Close $24.07
Low Values
08/19/2011 - Low $19.16, Close $19.19
04/04/2011 - Adjusted Close $17.81
Sorry to bother you, but I looked everywhere and I just can't figure out what the smfpricesbetween results compare to.

04/04/2011 - Adjusted Close $17.81
