Randy,
Having read through the documentation, I think this will work. I think OnLive is similar to Citrix, and so all DLL's etc would be hosted at OnLive's web farm.

I have used a similar app called CloudOn which, I believe, gives the user temporary access to a computer "somewhere in the cloud" running a version of excel. Since this computer presumably does not have the smf addin installed, I think the answer is NO.

Subject: [smf_addin] OnLive Desktop for the iPad
There is an app called OnLive Desktop, which allows users to open word, excel, powerpoint etc. on their iPad. I have not had a chance to use the app and was wondering if anyone has been successful in using the SMF_addin with this iPad app.
If so, is there something special needed to make it work?

Data from Subscription Websites

I was curious if there was a way to use the add-in to retrieve information from websites where I pay a subscription. In other words, is there a way to have the add-in automatically login with the username and password then retrieve the data using gettablecell or one of the other functions.
Thanks in advance for your insight.

The add-in can be used to retrieve data from subscription websites.
However, you do need to manually log in to the site first, using either the
EXCEL Web Query dialog (preferred) or IE. In general, this creates a
security cookie that should allow you to access the web pages. There are
exceptions, though -- it all depends on how they do the security.

Thanks, Randy. I'll give that a try.

Has anyone used the add-in to retrieve data from Investors.com? How do you do it?
Thanks!

Do a search of the message archives and you should find some info. Also,
the "Links" area of the group has a pointer.
HOWEVER, they have recently changed their URLs, so it's more difficult now
-- getting to a web page is no longer just a matter of knowing a ticker
symbol. There was a recent message thread about the issue.
