I too was worried about the ADVFN feeds so I emailed them...here is their response:

"Our financials for USA listed companies are using an old outdated feed from our service provider. Last week we began updating our financials to use the latest feed and hope to have it working soon as possible. Likely next week will be the earliest we can make the new financials available on the website."

We should be ok soon....

I have tried to use this function, but am getting a #name? error. To use the smfgettagcontent formula, do I need to install an add in or something? Thanks.

It's part of the SMF add-in. Are you using an old version? Or are you not
even using the add-in?

I believe I have added the add in now to excel. I am getting an error value in the cell I am using. The error value is linked to the webpage I want to get the information from. What can I try to not get the error value? I am using Excel 2010. Thanks.

Did you visit MorningStar with the EXCEL Web Query process (preferred) or
with IE? They have a redirection process they go through on the first visit
of the day, so you need to have a cookie updated before the add-in can
access data.

Be sure to run the smfForceRecalculation after that, because you would need
to purge the add-in's saved copy of the web page (the once causing the
error). For more information on that macro, see the LINKS area of the group.

Ahh. I tried both of those steps, but still am getting an error. When I enter the smfforcerecalculation in F8, am I supposed to see something pop up in the blank window? Because I just clicked run, but there were no changes.

What do you get with this =RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

This will confirm you have the addin PROPERLY INSTALLED.

Here is what I get:

Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2013.06.03 (C:\SMFADDIN; 1)

If the source code is this where I want to extract the numbers like 79 and 12 and 0, what is the excel function that I should have?

The 79 and 12 I would get with something like this:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://ogres-crypt.com/tmp/test.html",1,"Long%","U.S.
Stocks")
=RCHGetTableCell("http://ogres-crypt.com/tmp/test.html",1,"Long%","Foreign
Stocks")

I am using that formula with the morningstar website, but I am still getting an error value that is linked to the ogres-crypt website. I have also ran the smfforce macro, but still the error value. What do you think I'm doing wrong?

I have no idea what you mean when you say something is linked, as in: "I am
still getting an error value that is linked to the ogres-crypt website".

But, we can try a few things:

Exit EXCEL, restart it, and then use the
smfGetTagContent-Quick-Webpage-Examination.xls workbook to try a couple of
tests. First, try the "By HTML Tag" worksheet, entering:

Web Page: http://ogres-crypt.com/tmp/test.html
HTML Tag: tr

...and you should see eight rows of data displayed, followed by a bunch of
"Error" results. Then, try the "Table Extract" worksheet, entering:

Web Page: http://ogres-crypt.com/tmp/test.html
Begin String:
Begin Direction: 0
End String:
End Direction: 1

...and that table should be displayed. Last resort, go to the "By Fixed
Length" worksheet, entering:

Web Page: http://ogres-crypt.com/tmp/test.html
Length: 150

...which should display the contents of the web page 150 bytes at a time.
If you get "Error" on every line, it means the web page was not retrieved.
You may have a firewall preventing EXCEL from accessing the Internet?
Beyond that, I haven't a clue.

I am using this formula to capture bond information from an internal web site. In he formula "Project Name" is an example of a cell label on the web page.

RCHGetTableCell("https://www.bonddesk.com/hrbfa/servlet/issuedesc/issuedesc.htm?p_id_type=C&p_cusip="&$A2,1,"Project Name")

My problem is the ratings information. Below, "Moodys Rating Information" and "S&P Ratings Information" are sub-headers, in the same column to the left of the data information. The sub-headers are below the header. My problem is that the cell labels below the header are not unique and are repeated. The "Long Term Rating" is repeated under both of the headers. As you can see below, the other cell labels are repeated beow the header.

Moodys Rating Information
Long Term Rating Aa3 effective 01/17/2013
Short Term Rating
Creditwatch

S&P Rating Information
Long Term Rating AA- effective 11/30/2011 18:54:04
Short Term Rating -
Outlook STABLE effective 11/30/2011 18:54:04
Creditwatch

I changed the formula and was successful of getting the first line under the header. However, I am unable to write the formula to get "Short Term Rating", "Outlook", and "Credit Watch". The data is 1 cell to the right of the cell label.

This is the formula I used to get the data 1 line below the header.

RCHGetTableCell("https://www.bonddesk.com/hrbfa/servlet/issuedesc/issuedesc.htm?p_id_type=C&p_cusip="&$A2,1,"S&P Rating Information",,,1)

How can I adjust the formula above to get the data I need?

I'll need a sample URL. The ones you have below all use a cell reference,
and I have no idea what to use for it.

Not directly answering your question but take a look at
SMF Bond Price file on user forum for ratings from S&P & Moodys.

The sub-headers are below the header. My problem is that the cell labels below the header are not unique and are repeated. The "Long Term Rating" is repeated under both of the headers. As you can see below, the other cell labels are repeated beow the header.
