I am new to the SMF Add-in, so please excuse my sounding dumb.
I looked through the documentation and templates for the elements of market indices, but did not find them.
Will appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks.

Current quotes should be retrieved using RCHGetYahooQuotes(). Although
Yahoo can no longer provide data on Dow Jones indices in their CSV files,
because Dow Jones tightened up on their licensing of quotes.

I manually checked a number of the securities that I download from Yahoo and there seems to be chunks of data missing for certain securities and in some cases the numbers don't seem to line up with other data sources for a given date. Will work on the assumption that it is a Yahoo Finance data glitch and hopefully they resolve it soon. Thanks for your help.

Yes, it is a Yahoo glitch. Hopefully temporary.

I'm also having this problem at the moment. Is there a way we can get our historical data from Google using the smf addin?

Hi,
Really enjoy the add-in. Thanks.
The rchcreatecomment works great. When you hover the cell, a stock chart appears.
My question is the following:
Is there a way to click the cell where the function/comment is, and have the chart appear on a pop up dialog box, or some other pop up box? Just starting to learn VBA in Excel. Thanks.
Rob

You could probably code an event for it. I haven't done much of that.
A question better suit for a Yahoo group that focuses on EXCEL.

Excel 2013 is very slow when using the Add-In.
Any one experiencing the issue. Most of the calls are smfPriceByDates and in 2010 it used to be very fast.
Thanks

Because Yahoo has been flaky lately, I'd guess the speed problem is a
(hopefully temporary) Yahoo issue and not the version of EXCEL.

I don't see any problem. I just migrated to core i5 and Excel 2013. It's working great and better than xp/2010.

The problem is you have an older version of the add-in on that computer -- 2.1.2012.12.29.
I had to make a change to the smfGetAdvFNElement() function in 2013 to because of AdvFN website changes. From the change log:
Date Routine Description
2013-10-16 smfGetAdvFNElement Changed this routine to use the new AdvFN web site structure
2013-10-17 smfGetAdvFNElement Additional fix of above change
I did note that as a possible issue earlier:
"Are both machines running the same version of the add-in? I did have to make changes to the add-in last year to allow AdvFN data retrievals to continue working."
