Try:
=RCHGetHTMLTable("
http://www.motleyfool.idmanagedsolutions.com/stocks/historical_quotes.idms?START_DATE=2012-05-05&END_DATE=2014-05-05&CODE_MARKET=US,@US&SYMBOL_US=IBM&BLOCKSIZE=500&OFFSET=0
","Volume",-1,"",1)
The "Blocksize" parameter tells it how many days to return, so you don't
have to worry about multiple web pages.
For my purposes, the quotes are worthless because they aren't adjusted for
dividends.

Hi Guys,
For the formulas above I get:
2005/12 Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2014.01.30 (C:\SMF Add-in; uk; 44) /exchanges/NYSE/MMM/financials?mode=quarterly_repo http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=financials&mode=quarterly_reports&symbol=MMM /exchanges/NYSE/MMM/financials"><link rel='stylesh 2004/12 http://www.advfn.com/exchanges/NYSE/MMM/financials?btn=start_date&start_date=11&mode=annual_reports 21 2013/12
I'm not sure why I'm getting the "error" results for the advfn. I've change the internet settings and created the txt, but perhaps i have not named it correctly or placed it in the correct folder. It is in the same folder as the add-in. I kno everyone seems to have this but none of the tips and FAQs seem to work for me. I'm outside the US and am being re-directed to the uk site.
Any ideas what might help? Thanks, in advance

Both the RCHGetElementNumber() and smfGetAdvFNElement() functions you tried
below returned values.

The other way you can get a #NAME? error is if you have unresolved links,
due to the add-in being in a different location than the worksheet expects.
But you just need to correct those links.

I asked for help when I first joined this group, and the help provided
was invaluable, and quite fast!
Well, I find I need help yet again.
I have constructed an excel workbook with a few different spreadsheets,
and a list of symbols (stocks and funds).
The problem I have is that finviz does not have the most recent
information, and is often inaccurate.
My other problem is that I would like to utilize more functions, and it
appears to me that yahoo would be the one source to provide all this info.
For each symbol, in a list of symbols, I would like to get;
last closing price
daily price trend for 5 days, 9 days, 21 days, 63 days, 126 days, 189
days, 252 days (up, down, or no change)
weekly price trend for 13 weeks, 26 weeks, 39 weeks, 52 weeks, 78 weeks,
104 weeks, 156 weeks (up, down, or no change)
whether it's a monthly or quarterly dividend
next or last ex-dividend date
date declared
amount of next or last dividend
next or last payment date
next or last earnings report date
annual return (TTM) in percent
annual dividend (TTM or forward) in percent
Is this all available from Yahoo?
I find I must currently search for things like yield for OZM, return for
EMES, both yield and return for CEFL and MORL, etc.
Is there a better, more reliable source for this information?
Lastly, what formula(e, s) needs to be entered for each of the above?
I have attached my workbook in the hopes that some kind soul can help me.
Any constructive comments or criticisms on the attached workbook would
be greatly appreciated and graciously accepted.
Thanking you in advance.
Sincerely,
Pat

Take a look through the XLS file that was in the ZIP archive along with the
add-in. It has a list of defined elements for the RCHGetElementNumber()
function. Many of the items you're asking about are there.
For the performance measures, I'd use the smfPricesByDates() function,
along the lines of:
smfPricesByDates-Example-Performance-By-Period.xls<http://ogres-crypt.com/SMF/Templates/smfPricesByDates-Example-Performance-By-Period.xls>
In general, I'm not a fan of new ex-dividend dates on Yahoo. They have a
delay in reporting that makes them unusable for me. I generally use
RCHGetYahooHistory() to get the dividend history and estimate the next
ex-dividend date, until the real one comes along. That history should also
allow you to determine if they stock has a monthly or quarterly dividend.
Because of the variance of dividends of something like OZM, I would think
"Yield" would be a meaningless item.

Hi,
I have been using the addin for a few years now and usually find it very useful and good.
However, recently (like the last couple of months) I have been finding that it takes up to an hour to update the data from GetYahooQuotes - my spreadsheet has around 300-400 areas where it pulls in this data.
More recently, like the last few days, it has been completely unable to refresh the price data. Excel calculates for around an hour, then the cells where it meant to pull in data just show up blank.
I am using Excel 2007 on Parallels for Mac. I am in Africa so the internet "ping" can take quite a long time, but the bandwidth is generally not bad...
I'd be interested in any thoughts as to how to speed the process up / get it working again, and what could be causing the deterioration in the process.
Thanks!
Ankush

One other thing - I tried a bandwidth test to the NE USA. I got a ping of 259ms, download speed of 6Mbps and upload of 8.5Mbps
Thanks!
Thanks!

The best way to speed up RCHGetYahooQuotes() is to array-enter it over a
range instead of doing one formula per cell. Each invocation of the
function uses a single Internet access. You can do numerous items on up to
200 ticker symbols with one invocation of the function when you array-enter
it over a range. So you could go from hundreds of Internet accesses to a
single one. That speeds things up tremendously.

range instead of doing one formula per cell. Each invocation of the
function uses a single Internet access. You can do numerous items on up to
200 ticker symbols with one invocation of the function when you array-enter
it over a range. So you could go from hundreds of Internet accesses to a
single one. That speeds things up tremendously.

Knowing me, I missed it in the documentation, is it possible to restrict how often data is received using (mainly I use the Yahoo history and Yahoo quotes function) time or some other outside value without losing what has already been received?
Example would be that data is pulled when you open the worksheet, then no matter how often you make changes to the worksheet, nothing changes until say top of the hour, or maybe a flag is change from a false status to a true status.
I am pulling data on 30 stocks in one worksheet and it is really bogging down on me.
