Actually, Options are settled on Saturday and your account adjusted. That is why the dates always show a Saturday

Actually, options do expire on Saturday. Friday is just the last trading day.

If you'll note on this page:

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/op?s=MMM <http://finance.yahoo.com/q/op?s=MMM&m=2012-09> &m=2012-09

Yahoo does say the options expire on Friday, 9/21. However, if you look at the ticker symbols for the options, they have a 9/22 expiration date. For example:

The issue is that the date returned by the Excel code is Saturday, 9/22/2012. The options actually expire on Friday, 9/21/2012. I just checked cboe.com and the Expiration date is 9/22/2012. So the issue is that Yahoo has the wrong Expiry date in September. Sorrry I posted.

I just thought that was my problem.  The dates are correct.

The issue is that the conversion from OTM? to an actual number, like 80 for PH does not work for Puts for the month of September.  It works OK for Calls but not Puts.  The price is 80.37.

Calls for ITM1 (80) and OTM1 (85) work.

Calls for ITM2 (75) does not work.

Puts for OTM1 (80), OTM2 (75), and ITM1 (85) do not work.

This just happens for the month of September.  All the rest of the months work.  This just applies to PH.  CAT works fine.

That's because the add-in looks for the "shading" change between ITM and
OTM options. However, PH has NO ITM puts, so there is no "shading" change
to be found.

That would explain it working most of the time.  Thanks.

Ill try to explain the best I can. I am trying to extract folio #s for a different county. So here is what I have. If you click on this link http://gisims2.miamidade.gov/myhome/proptext.asp?folio=0141050111210&vbMakeLink= it will give you the html and I am able to extract the data from this text, but now (on this page on the left hand side ) if you click the drop down menu search by and select owner then type in BANKUNITED in the "Last Name" box, it will provide a list of the Bank United folio's, however, the html is not specifically for this page, some research has led me to believe there is an internal html for this page to arrive with all the Bank United propery folios, is this possible? Is there a way to find this inner html, and if so can smf addin you is? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks again!!

PS Let me know if i need to clear up anything here, i know its a lot to digest :)

Unfortunately, the add-in needs a "bookmarkable" URL. And I don't see that
search option creating a URL that can be bookmarked, to get directly to the
data...

The following formula is used in my sheet to pull option quotes into my sheet.

I would like to pull quotes for Jan 18, 2013 NFLX 52.5 puts.

The following formula is entered, and the input cells (for symbol and strike) I have double checked. I tried 50 or 55 as strike and that worked fine too.

=IFERROR(AVERAGE(smfGetOptionQuotes(K2,"a",0,OptionSource),smfGetOptionQuotes(K2,"b",0,OptionSource)),smfGetOptionQuotes(K2,"l",0,OptionSource))

So I am guessing our source doesn't work for this one for some reason.

Can anyone suggest an alternative for this quote? Thanks

I found it on Fidelity.  It is not listed on Yahoo.  I didn't try any of the other sources.  The volume on this option is very low.

As Ron noted, that put doesn't exist on Yahoo. No surprise -- I see it on
Google with no open interest and only 1 option traded today. Yahoo probably
only lists, or only gets updates on, items that had open interest at the
start of the day?

Very exciting! I somehow managed to be the only person in the universe who sold this put today! I wonder who bought it :>

I guess I will just remove it from my sheet. IB is quite thorough in their listings I suppose, and hooked up the only two people in the world interested in this one. Maybe I should just roll it to the 55 to keep things straight. If someone would buy it that is! Ha

you are all doing well in the stock market these past few days...!!!

Quick question. I'm using the Finviz element 1-68 in an array formula

{=smfGetCSVFile("http://finviz.com/export.ashx?v=151&T="&smfJoin(B7:B43,",")&"&c="&smfJoin(C4:BR4,","))}

but it's missing a few elements I'm looking for including Index and Target Price. Is there a way to import these using that same array formula or one like it? I'm able to import it using the RCHGetTableCell function but its very slow especially with a few portfolios.

When I look at available screener output fields, I don't see either
Index or Target Price...

However, you can do it another way -- you can use the quotes function to
bring up multiple equities and their data fields in tabular format. For
example:

http://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=MMM,IBM

So that page has Index and Target price for both MMM and IBM, with just
one Internet access. That means you can do something like this, for
range C4:E12:

Ticker Index Target Price MMM DJIA S&P500 $97.24 IBM DJIA S&P500
$213.50 GIS S&P 500 $41.69 ED S&P 500 $59.38 F S&P 500 $13.48
FSLR S&P 500 $23.63 VVUS 0 $38.40 HMSY 0 $35.43

...where:

* C4:E4 are your column headers

* C5:C12 are your input ticker symbols

* In D5, and copied to D5:E12

=RCHGetTableCell("http://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t="&smfJoin($C$5:$C$12,",\
"),1,"?t="&$C5&"&",">"&D$4)

So then eight Index values and eight Target Prices are retrieved with a
single Internet access. I'm not sure if there is a limit to the number
of ticker symbols you could use.

Note that you could also get additional data items the same way, by
adding additional columns with appropriate column headers, if you didn't
want to grab them from the screener output. However, the smfGetCSVFile()
process may be faster on 68 items per ticker symbol, because it would
just need to parse the single file instead of extracting 68 data
individual items per ticker symbol. So the optimal method, or mix of
methods, would depend on how many different data items you need.

Hope that helps...

PS: I'd not known this was possible until I started looking for the
answer to your question...
