You want help you might try supplying more specific information which
function are you referring to in your posting?
For Yahoo real-time you need a subscription and you need to logon.
Randy has answered this question at least 20 - 30 times this year alone.
Please search the previous messages for his answers.
I, personally, do not trust yahoo real-time. I use 3 different brokers and 3
software products. Well worth the investment.
I do not know of a free RT service but almost every major broker provides
free RT if you have an account.
You might try this link for RT data. They offer several products at
reasonable fees.

Element #25, the "Last Price" on MSN has been defined as the previous day's
closing price since they redesigned the web page early last year, so yes,
it's pretty useless these days.
Take a look at the RCHGetYahooQuotes() function. It's much better at
picking up daily quotes. You can gather numerous data items on up to 200
stocks (per function invocation), so it can be very fast at getting data.
There's an entry in the LINKS area of the group that has a step-by-step
example of setting up a data table. And the documentation for the function
can be found in the "Documentation" folder in the FILES area of the group.

Is there any way to extarct the Morningstar Credit Rating for a stock?
I can see Morningstar Credit Rating in
http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/afl/s?t=KO
but I cannot extract anything from this page.
In http://quicktake.morningstar.com/stocknet/PrintReport.aspx?Country=USA&Symbol=ko
I can see under "Financial health" a paragraph
"We currently assign Coke an issuer rating of AA-, implying very low default risk."
It is possible, and reliable to extract AA- from there?

Ah, the dreaded dynamic web page again. I'm getting a little bit better at
finding the source page for their data. Try it with this format of the
sourced data page:
=smfGetTagContent("
http://quotes.morningstar.com/stock/c-morningstar-take?&t=KO ",
"span",1,"Morningstar Credit Rating")
Also appears to be a handy source for all of the proprietary ratings...
I'll probably have to start collecting these and making a template with
them, so all of the different components can be found easily.

Have a large spreadsheet using RCHGetYahooHistory which is array entered to retrieve historical prices in columns. Each stock has a different starting date so some begin to appear farther down the column by date order. All stocks update through the most recent date with ending values in the same row. This works well and now I would like to extend the array another 100 rows for each stock. Is there an easy way to extend the arrays down without redefining the array for each stock. Have tried copying columns across but since each stock starts at a different date, the chronological sequence is lost.
Thanks
Thanks

I'm having difficulty envisioning what you're asking about. I always have
the most recent date at the top, so everything automatically lines up...

So I am rather new to the world of excel, but I am attempting to get use the GetYahooHistory function of this addin. I was trying to keep it simple by only using the ticker for the function RCHGetYahooHistory("Ticker") but the cell I place it in just returns Date. I am using excel 2013 on a windows 7. Thank you so much for the addin and the help!

You need to array-enter the function over a range. A function can only
return values to cells that it has been given access
to. Since you only entered the formula into a single cell, you just get the
first row and column of the total array of data.
If you're just using the ticker symbol parameter, you should be using a
range that is 7 columns by however many rows of data you want to retrieve.

Ok I am sorry to ask as it is not your job to tutor me in excel, but would you mind saying specifically how this would be done. If you could explain just at its simplest, starting the range in a1 with the ticker as the only parameter. Thank you so much!

From the documentation for the function (found in the "Documentation"
folder in the FILES area of the group):
"In most cases, this will need to be an array-entered formula. To
array-enter a formula in EXCEL, first highlight the range of cells where
you would like the returned data to appear -- the number of rows for the
range should be the number of periods of data you are requesting from the
function, while the number of columns for the range should be the number of
data items you are requesting for each date from the function. Next, enter
your formula and then press Ctrl-Shift-Enter."
So, as a test, just highlight a 7-column by 20-row range, type in the
formula (or paste it in), and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter. You should get
something similar to the image on the front page of the group.
Note that you can't sort an array-entered range. If you want to change the
size, you're usually best off just deleting the old range an re-entering
the new range.
