Keep in mind that
logging in with a browser other than IE doesn't do
anything for EXCEL or the add-in...just in case that is the
issue.

The easiest
way to check if you have the IE security cookie is to go
into the EXCEL Web Query dialog, keyboard shortcut
alt+d+d+w, and then navigate to morningstar.com. When I do
that, I see "Welcome, Randy!" right next to the M*
logo in the upper left-hand corner. So I know I have the IE
security cookie. If I don't have the IE security cookie,
all it says is "Welcome!".

Here in the U.S., those data items are only available to premium members,
and you have to have created the IE security cookie in order for EXCEL and
the add-in to get to the data.

Best practice:

1. Open up the EXCEL Web Query dialog (keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w)
2. Navigate to morningstar.com
3. Log in if you need to
4. Cancel out of the dialog once you're logged in

Hi Randy - I only use Internet Explorer.

When using the EXCEL Web Query dialog, the first thing I get is a "Security Warning" pop-up. It says "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered secured?" I pressed "NO" to continue.

But in the Web Query dialog I see "Welcome", not "Welcome Jose". And I am already logged-on to Morningstar in another IE session.!!

Then, if I logon to M* inside the Web Query, my spreadsheet works

Do you have any clue what is going on?

ps. If I answer "YES" to the Security Warning pop-up, I get a script error and I have to cancel the dialog.

In such a case, I suspect that the IE object used by EXCEL is a different
version of IE than the browser. It's why I say it's preferred to use the
EXCEL Web Query dialog versus the browser. Because it's within EXCEL, the
add-in would use all the same objects that EXCEL does.

OK,
I think this is likely very easy fix.
Trying to grab the table on website, and just getting blanks (I think my problem is the stuff at end of formula... just can't get it to work).

That's an invalid URL. It appears you have to capitalize the ticker symbol.
This gets me part of the table:

=RCHGetHTMLTable("http://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/estimates"," Annual
Estimates",1,"",1)

...but they have it improperly coded after EBITDA -- they are coding "<tr>"
instead of "</tr>" where they want to end a row. The rendering by
RCHGetHTMLTable() isn't as forgiving as a browser's.

But I'm not a member, so all I'm getting is "Upgrade" values in the table.

But further down is table for ANNUAL estimates. This part doesn't come thru.... Any suggestions how to get this part?

Hmmm? I gave you the formula for the annual estimates. And it got the whole
table for you? If so, maybe a member's page doesn't have the HTML mangled
so badly.

You should be able to get both tables by changing that last parameter:

=RCHGetHTMLTable("http://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/estimates"," Quarterly
Estimates",1,"",2)

Folks,

One of the best way to analyze industry is compare companies with the same
NAICS (or SIC) code. Unfortunately, I don't know a free site with link company stock ticker with prime NAICS and/or SIC code. If anybody know such WWW please answer. I hope it will be possible to apply SMF to extract such information.

If you have a real-time data source that the add-in can access, you could
write your own timing routine to have EXCEL "automatically" update the data
retrieval at specified intervals.

But if you need streaming quotes, you probably need a different tool.
