Per REIT.com FFO is defined as:
The most commonly accepted and reported measure of REIT operating performance. Equal to a REIT's net income, excluding gains or losses from sales of property, and adding back real estate depreciation.
I've looked at REITs and Adjusted FFO (AFFO) is also used (adjusted for recurring capex and straight-lining of rents).
For FFO, you can take the readily available data for market cap and divide by (net income + D&A). If you want a better number add back any gains or losses on sales

Randy,
It seems that my formula for pulling up a chart for a ticker on Stockcharts.com stopped working recently.
I had the ticker in cell C2 but changed it for you here in this formula. I entered MMM as the ticker as that is the last saved version I have.
I am not sure if the website changed or what. This is a very useful formula and I would like to get it working again. Can you take a look at it for me please?
Thanks.

Here is the original formula in case I did not manually enter it correctly.
=RCHCreateComment("http://stockcharts.com/c-sc/sc?s="&C2&"&p=D&yr=1&mn=0&dy=0&i=t42366087610&r=1371401828224",99,260,271,1,-15,6,1,"","Chart")
Cell C2 is MMM

I just did a cut an paste of your formula, editing the ticker symbol, and
it worked fine for me. I changed the ticker symbol to IBM and then MCD, and
both of those worked fine as well...
So I don't know what to tell you?

Randy,
I tried the formula in a blank workbook and it works fine as it did for you.
I then tried it again in my original workbook and it does not.
Interestingly, I copied the original page into the blank workbook and now the sheet is functioning normally.
Is there some sort of Comment Cache limit in Excel that will not allow it to work?
It is not the formula but something to due with my original workbook.
I have run a lot of data through it so perhaps it has hit some limit.
As a last resort I could copy it all over and start again with a fresh workbook.
Any ideas before I do that?

Never mind. I seem to have found the problem. I had two different sheets selected at the same time and that was messing the RCHCreateComment function up. I just missed the fact I somehow had both sheets selected.
After unselecting the extra one it functions normally.
Whew.

Hi Randy,
Good morning. a quick one.
I am using SMF-Template-Google-Balance-Sheet-Tables.xls, with "IBM" the ticker. All items show "Error". I have already created a folder "C:\SMF Add-In" and put all upzipped files (including smf-elements-X.txt) inside.
It works for 941, 943, 640, 1552, but doesn't work for google/MSN sources like 2742, 3634. Could you pls advise me?
Thank you so much!
Cheers,
L

All MSN elements are obsolete at the moment, because of the revamp MSN did
to their web site. They may stay obsoleted, since the majority of the data
elements appear to no longer be available.
Some people have had issues with Google in the past. The AdvFN "cross
domain" fix seemed to resolve the issue for them:
