Thanks David.
It is similar to the Free Cash Flow definition used by others.
However, that does not explain why certain companies (SLB, JNJ,
for instance) show N/A on both Operating and Levered.
Still looking/
Thanks again.
Armando

I seem to be getting errors from the MSN functions for RCHGetElementNumber. For example, this throws an error in cell A1

=RCHGetElementNumber("WRI";,1)

Has the MSN data become unusable?

Thanks!

Hmmm. It's working fine here. When you say it throws an error, do you mean
it returns a value of "Error" to the cell? Or do you mean some kind of
EXCEL error message?

Yes, sir. The cell has the word "Error".
I am running Microsoft Excel 2013.
Version is Stock Market Functions add-in, Version 2.1.2014.01.30 (C:\SMF Add-in; www; 1)
Cell has =RCHGetElementNumber("WRI";,1)

Could there be some security setting that may be blocking the function I am not aware of? Note the =RCHGetElementNumber("WRI";,5198) works.

Element #5198 comes from a different domain -- AdvFN.

Element #1 gets the data from this web page:

http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity&Symbol=WRI

Are you able to access that web page, either with IE or with the EXCEL Web
Query dialog (keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w)?

Yes, sir. Clicking on that link brings up the page and a print dialogue.

I dropped back to Office 2007. No change.

If you put the URL in a cell, say D8:

http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?Symbol=WRI&CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity

...then what do you get with:

=smfGetTagContent($D$8,"title",1)
=smfGetTagContent($D$8,"h1",1)
=smfGetTagContent($D$8,"td",1,">Company Report")

Error Error Error

When I click on the link though I am getting add behavior. First I get a popup saying

Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.

Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?

So I assume I have a security prompt browser setting. And the it wants me to login to live.com? (Microsoft).

I reset back to IE from Firefox and that prompt went away though IE wanted me to login to live.com again. Still no change though but I assume I am getting closer.

After fixing the access via IE, you'll need to either exit and restart
EXCEL, or use the smfForceRecalculation macro. The add-in extracts data
from saved copies of the web page. You need to do one of those two things
to purge the saved copy of the web page and have the add-in get a fresh
copy.

Not sure what you mean by "reset back to IE".

I was using Firefox as my default browser. I reset back to IE as the default browser. Probably made no difference in the function though. I'll continue looking. As it is almost 2am here, I think I may sign off for the night. Thanks for the help.

Your default browser makes no difference.

The add-in uses Windows libraries to access the Internet. It's basically
the same Internet engine that IE and EXCEL use -- because they are all
MicroSoft products. So the add-in uses the same settings as IE -- cookies,
temporary Internet files, etc.

That's why the login has to be done through IE -- so the security cookie
exists for the MicroSoft Internet engine that the add-in is utilizing.

Let me know how things go after you've slept on it. :)
