Hello Randy -

A few months ago, Yahoo updated their tables for 'insider transactions' so I updated the function to utilize the following. Where $T5 is the ticker symbol.

As of about a week ago this is not working. Any ideas what may be going on here?

=smfGetYahooJSONData($T5,"netSharePurchaseActivity","netPercentInsiderShares")

The page I am trying to look up is: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VNCE/insider-transactions?p=coty https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VNCE/insider-transactions?p=coty

I am interested in the "% Net Shares Purchased (Sold)"

Any help is appreciated. Thank you as always for your great work here.

Did you look at the web page? It's populated with zeros and N/As. So
something may be going on with Yahoo.

When I look at that JSON file, the field name you want is no longer there.

It looks like the data is within a table now, so you could try something
like this:

=smfGetTagContent("https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VNCE/insider-transactions","td",1,"%
Net Shares Purchased (Sold)",,,,1)

Thank you Randy- I will give it a shot. I noticed your point, not sure why they are changing things again on the yahoo end.

I will try again tomorrow to see if they are refreshing their data.

Thanks again,

Jason

Hi Randy,

I've subscribe to Gurufocus premium members. On the SMF, it still returns me premium even after I login on gurufocus website and excel addin from gurufocus. Is it because still on 7days trial? or There's additional things to do before I can access the data using smf functions. I can get other data but not those on premium.

Is there a limit on how many stocks I will be able to retrieve as a premium member using smfgetgurufocus?

Thanks and best regards,
Joseph

You need to create a security cookie that EXCEL and the add-in can use.
Since I got my new computer with Win10, that means I have to use the EXCEL
Web Query dialog (alt+d+d+w) to log into the web site. I can no longer do
it with the IE browser. And logging in with another browser would never
make a difference, because they wouldn't create IE security cookies.

If you retrieved any GuruFocus web pages before you logged in, you'd need
to run the smfForceRecalculation to purge those saved web pages and force
the add-in to get fresh copies of them post-login.

No idea if there's a limit. They do have limits on their own add-in, so it
wouldn't surprise me. The purpose of the SMF add-in is for ad hoc data
retrieval, as is my own usage, so limits are rarely an issue for me.

Randy,

I found the data. The pane was frozen and I simply had to scroll up.

Best

Randy,

Is there a way to get additional Balance Sheet data from Morningstar. I'm
using the smfGetCSVFile function, but unlike the Income Statement, many
parameters are not shown (e.g., Accounts Receivable). I know AdvFN
retrieves Accounts Receivable data using RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker, 5979),
for example, but the data appears to be incorrect for at least CSCO.
Hence, I'm trying to use Morningstar data as much as possible.

I'm currently using the following to get Morningstar balance sheet data:
=smfGetCSVFile("
http://financials.morningstar.com/ajax/ReportProcess4CSV.html?t=
"&C2&"&reportType="&C3&"&period="&C4&"&dataType="&C5&"&order="&C6&"&columnYear="&C7&"&rounding=3&denominatorView="&C8)

Thanks
