Thanks, Randy - Making some progress. I was able to access to SMF in context menu.

I'm starting to think the problems may be Excel. Even simple functions; like File take a while before executing (Excel, (not responding). When I finally save and exit Excel; then restart Excel cannot open my spreadsheet. After opening blank sheet, my spreadsheet appears in the Document Recovery.

Should I try to repair Excel (Office 365); Windows 7 Professional??

just now when I tried opening my spreadsheet that uses smf, it opened. Slow and I saw a note at the bottom "calculating (8 threads): x%" . and I had to run smfAddToCellMenu macro again.

btw, I am saving file as Macro-Enabled Workbook (*.xlsm). Is that the correct choice?

I ran the online Office Repair; no change

No, you don't need to save it as an XLSM file, or even enable macros to use
the add-in. In fact, I'd recommend NOT enabling macros, since they can
allow any opening workbook to run macros. That's a huge security issue. By
enabling the add-in, you have already said you TRUST it and all of its
functions and macros. When I have workbooks that have native VBA code, I
put them into a directory that I have listed as a trusted source.

What I would suggest is starting EXCEL with an empty workbook. Enable the
logging, then open up the SMF workbook. After it finished loading and
calculating, look over the log results to see what web pages were retrieved
in order to calculate the workbook.

Most of my own workbooks are set up to do little or no data retrieval when
I initially open them up.

Thanks a lot for all your help Randy. Things seem to be working better and have learned a lot.

I just looked back at the first spreadsheet that I used your smf features; it was dated 9/30/2005. times sure flys when having fun.
