RE: [ExcelVBA] VBA/Macro Version problem

"Reference doesn't exist" is usually an indication that you're missing
an add on. The highlighting of the code line is simply a hangover from
what it was doing when it discovered the missing reference.

Hit the "stop" square on the toolbar, then open Tools/References and
look for something that is marked as missing. Chances are you'll find
something there.

Subject: [ExcelVBA] VBA/Macro Version problem

Ok I hope i can get an answer to this maddening problem. I have a
spreadsheet originally written in excel 2003, I am using 2010 and do not
have any problems with it. However, other coworkers that are using 2007
have run into a myriad of problems. overview of the vba/macro is that on
sheet1 there are a list of links, clicking on start button opens a form
where current date is entered, and there are options on what row to
start the macro on.

once the macro starts running, internet explorer opens to first link,
navigates to certain page, downloads a document (or multiple docs),
opens another spreadsheet to log what is being downloaded. closes
spreadsheet (log), then moves to next link.

however the users that have 2007, the file (log) opens readonly, there
are some errors reporting that the reference doesn't exist and int he
debugger the reference is a variable i= 1 to irow... with the i
highlighted.. i was not explicitly declared as integer but this works in
2003 and 2010.

Is there a setting or option that needs to be selected to not have
strict syntax? or is there any other reason why this would happen in
2007 and not the other versions?

Also one of the users was upgraded to 2010 and now the macro runs
without a problem... so it appears to be a version thing.

Any ideas?

Banging my head on the wall

thanks
