Hmmmm....

My guess is that InStr actually is working but not giving you what you expect.

Can you post what you are passing to your function please?

Have you altered it from the original function code you posted? If so could you post the actual function you are using?

If you want to look for whole words you could try putting spaces around it after removing punctuation.

Have you tried stepping through your function line by line?

whole word lay is itself word and layout not...but Instr is not working "layout"
word. my requirement is to find "lay" and ignore "layout"
please help me.
